The plans were for a two sided stadium with double decks. Large box on one side of the stadium. One end zone had stand alone seats and the other end zone had a plaza which was next to some other buildings along the street plus a new dorm. They told us that it would be ready for our son's redshirt junior season in 2009.

Thanks Zipdad!Interesting. The plans sound pretty nice. Would the new dorm possibly be the one currently under construction on Exchange and Grant, or an entirely new one? Sounds exciting. I can't wait to see them start building it.

Thanks a lot Zipdad! It's fun to get the imagination going! Your description provides some nice daydream material! But what did you mean by "stand alone seating" in one end zone? Could you clarify that for me? Thanks alot!!!

Also Zipdad (sorry if I'm nagging you but this is my favorite topic on the board) would you say that the project gave you the impression of, "Oh, that's really nice. We'll be on par with other 'mid-major' programs now." Or did the project strike you as, "Wow! They've gone out of their way to make this one of the best 'small' stadiums in the country! Just like the field house, D-1A programs from across the country are gonna be jealous of this!"So, would you say it is a a) "nice" stadium, or...B) "awesome" stadium?

I was a bit worried when they built the fieldhouse. Having witnessed the talk and then the results of the jar, left me concerned about the final results. That is a fantastic facility, and I'm confident they will build a stadium we will all be proud of. The envy factor doesn't hurt. :)

After seeing the fieldhouse, I am sure the powers in charge will do the right thing. I just hope it's big enough, and able to expand if needed.
Well, if zipdad's description is accurate, the facility will be a two sided double deck style. That sounds pretty cool right there and you got to think it will be sizeable. Also, the endzones will probably be open so there is potential for expansion right there by adding more stands. I bet the large press box will be awesome.
