And if we can keep this momentum and JD can keep their heads right then who can beat us?If we beat CMU, North TX and Can't StateREPEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ryno aka Menace
Man if Penn State finishes 9-3 or 10-2 (means they need to upset OhioSt or Michigan) and we win out how high do you think our ranking will be? Cinci winning some game would help too but they are pretty bad this year!
zen
Guys, listen, I said it before teh season and I am sticking to it now.We needed to beat BOTH Penn State and NC State to get a BCS rank, and even then it MAY not have happened.Even if we win out the rest of the season, and Penn State goes undefeated (helping with teh BCS because of the computer points portion), I am still not convinced it is enough. The only exception would be to get ranked in a coaches, media, and/or public voting poll that does not include strength-of-schedule computer calculations, by blowing out some teams hardcore and getting people to notice that way.We could have a great season and something to look forward too, but I think you might want to temper the whole ranking fever. GoZips88
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. It was 1 game. One game at a time with Central at Central next. The only thing we know for sure ...

Blue & Gold
I'm actually more worried about the CMU game than I was for the NC State game. I was expecting a victory at NC State - the 1st time I've ever expected a victory against a BCS team (man, our program has come a long way, and the giant has just begun to awaken!) However, I'm afraid this may be a let down week for us for at least 4 reasons...1) It's the 3rd road game in a row! This is still a killer schedule and, if you agree with media experts, there is a very real home field advantage in college ball as opposed to the NFL game.2) After the thrilling NC State victory (I wouldn't even call it an upset except for the fact that they had the home field advantage - we clearly had better athletes on the field) it will be natural to let down emotionally this week.3) Did anyone see the CMU - Boston College game?! Man, CMU looked very good! They were knocking Boston College's heads! They probably should have won that game were it not for a few outrageous coaching calls.4) CMU's freshman QB is going to be even better than he was in game 1 against BC.Honestly, I'm worried about this game.But... if we win out a Top 25 ranking is in order! I've been waiting for YEARS to see our program crack the Top 25!!! The giant is waking up and I believe we should be a consistent Top 25 football school! And, yes,

The giant is waking up and I believe we should be a consistent Top 25 football school! And, yes, I agree that there is potential for a letdown here but I don't see it happening for a couple reasons.#1-Coaching. If you watched their game against BC you know that their coach has a tendency to out-think himself and make some bad decisions. #2-Recievers. After reading comments on CMU's board it appears that they are having quite a few problems with recievers catching and holding onto the ball. An experienced and deep secondary (which we have) is going to magnify those problems.#3-QB Controversy. Ok, so maybe it isn't a full fledged controversy but they do have two QB's and questions about which one should start and even if they will stick with the same QB all game. This kind of problem can be distracting and make it difficult for an offense to get into a rythm. If this were the Lee Owens era, would I be worried about a letdown. Hell yeah I would. But this is the JD era. No letdown this week boys.
Buckzip
All teams have letdowns. It's the nature of sports. Althought he coach can motivate his players, it is actually the players themselves that need to be ready to play.
UADavid
Last years result should be plenty of motivation for this team. Get the penalties squared away and the kicking game sorted out before saturday. IMO
Ryno aka Menace
I don't think there will be a "letdown" cause seniors want revenge for last year, I am sure the coaching staff is reminding them that they were up and lost. I am expecting a close game for the simple fact that both teams are talented and both want a shot at the MAC championship!
