GP1
http://www.ohio.com/mld/beaconjournal/spor...es/15506455.htmDLM has a good article about our early season sack problem. IMHO, the sacks are not as bad as the penalty problem we are having. Opinions?
Big Zip
I agree the sacks may be a function of waiting too long to make something happen. Not to mention the fact that we've played to BCS schools. The answer may be clearer this weekend. The penalties and lack of discipline from a veteran line is very concerning. The beginning of the PSU game when they stopped a drive was terrible.

Buckzip
The offensive line makes me really nervous. What is with Crouch? He seems to be regressing from when he got here. They play undisciplined and slow. A lot of improvement needs to be made for the Zips to repeat as MAC champs. Valpo Zip
I am not worried at all, remember who we played last 2 games ?I will start worrying if Luke gets sacked more than twice against CMU.
ZipDude
Being an O Line fan I am likewise concerned. I recorded the PSU game but it stopped for some weird reason after it was either 14 or 17 -0. Therefore i got to see oly a few miserable series. Tim Crouch sucks, he always has. He is also a whiner, he alwasy has been. Using gutter language he is a punk and a pussy. I dont see much in him for a 4 year starter. I posted this somewhere else but he never did an adequate job of protecting 5's back side and not too much better for Getsey. I was also not impreseed with Kimmie's (RT) play at PSU. In all the series i saw he got beat on most every play. i saw him standing there as the DE went aroudn him with his hands up in the air as to say..."Coach i cant block him" or "Oh F___ where did he go" !Crouch with penalties are a function of him getting beat and trying to cheat

Kemme is a good player and did a very good job at NC St. All the touchdowns went to his side, 1 right and 2 left. Roll the tape.
SoFlaZip
I hope this discussion regarding the OL's inability to protect the QB does not give the defense a "pass" regarding it's INABILITY to put pressure (sack) on the QB. Our best defense during the first three quarters of the NCS game was NCS's lack of a passing attack. Either the pass was on the ground, five feet over the receiver's head, or droped. When NCS finally got its act together during the fourth quarter they marched (passed the ball) right down the field - unpressured. Yes we are VERY GOOD againt the run, but if we expect to go to Detroit in December, we need to IMMEDIATELY address our inability to apply pressure (sack) on the QB. Mackey, Corner, Tate, Anderson, McPherson do you feel me? Player of the game Mark Groza. RACER
i do agree our pas rush has been suspect at best.at the same time we are making bcs teams throw the ball to try to beat us. in the past teams like wisky, and penn state would just line up and run all day. that is not the case now. Part of that is we have 3 down-lineman. We aren't blitzing the lb's or the safeties. When you play this defense, you need to blitz a little more. What ever the staff is doing, is obviously working.
