Zip_ME87
The loss to CMU was disappointing, but I don't think it's time to panic yet. I spoke with a University of Michigan alum (with whom I work) mid last week. He was at the UM vs CMU game at the Big House and told me that CMU looked really good, especially their defense. That's high praise given what UM did to Notre Dame in South Bend yesterday.Akron needs to figure out how to have a better first half and not dig such big holes. It's great to be a 2nd half team because that's when games are won. But, you've got to stay in it early and not shoot yourself in the foot. After 3 games on the road, I'm hopeful that the Zips will be sharp next Saturday at the Rubber Bowl.Go Zips! RACER
right now i am worried. we could not run the ball yesterday, and our kicking game is not good.our big win over nc state.well they got beat 37-17 last night.the bright sopt the defense i thought played pretty good all three games. the o needs to kick it in gear.we have toledo and western left.those are going to be tuff games to win in the mac.luckily for us i think the whole mac seems pretty balanced so far. Arrohead
As a CMU fan, I was very impressed with your secondary. Every catch we made was difficult. I think the only team that looks like a problem for you in the MAC East right now is Ohio. 5-3 in the MAC might get you back to the title game where anything can happen. We are hoping to be in that title game so maybe there will be a rematch! Good luck to you the rest of the year and please feel welcome to beat Toledo & Western!!! Lone Zip in Col
Lets calm down about losing this game. More than a few of us were worried about this game beforehand as CMU is a quality opponent. This is the team that could and probably should have beaten ranked BC. Although Luke threw way too many picks, he threw for a lot of yards. Another favorable stat is that the Zips controlled time of possession. This game was there for the taking just that we made too many mental errors especially in the red zone. All of which (with possible exception of the kicking game) should easily be fixed. Though we should never look past any of our future opponents, I believe the worse part of our schedule is over. Go Zips!!!!
Buckzip
Just like some of us said after beating NCSU, it's 1 game. No need to get too upset. I have a feeling that many of us thought we would be much better than we are going to be this year. I am sure we will be ok, but this team seems to be lacking on offense big time. I didn't expect that.
zipsbandman
we have toledo and western left.those are going to be tuff games to win in the mac. I think we are in big trouble here. The offense has yet to impress me. They have done nothing spectacular the first three games. The fact that we were scoreless at the half at central was pathetic. WMU and Toledo??? That's just the begining of our problems. OU will give us fits. Bank on it. Miami has always had our number. Say what you will about them against Can't. They killed us last year. Can't now has confidence, and the rivalry game will really fire them up. I am very very disappointed because I wanted us to run the tables in the MAC and show everyone we are no fluke team. Losses like this should not even be.
