Dr Z Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 Akron -3Over/Under is 42Who would have guessed this at the beginning of the year? I hope we can get more Akron fans at the game than Can't fans. Quote
GoZips88 Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 Pisses me off the line is that weak. I feel as passionately about Can't as OSU fans feel about "the school up north." I hope the Zips REALLY give it to Can't next Saturday at their place. Quote
Dr Z Posted September 25, 2006 Author Report Posted September 25, 2006 Don't get made. Lay some scratch. Quote
zipsbandman Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 If we lose this game then we have JD for a long time. We need to win! Quote
gozips311 Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 Why are people nervous about Can't? Wow, they beat Miami, who is down this year, by 2 points. So they blew out BG? Who cares! BG is on like their third string QB and had about 4 key injuries for that game on top of being in a down year. Can't is playing a QB who is starting only his 5th game ever (right?) and he really can't (no pun!) throw the ball. Their running back is 5'5" and isn't all that productive. Our defense is ridiculous this year, you know the guys will be pumped to play, and I think with our passing offense we really can score at will. We have better players and better coaches. And it's not even really and "away" game. I say Akron wins by at least 14. Bring that Wagon Wheel back where it belongs. Quote
w00t Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 Can't's recent "success" doesn't bother me in the least. This will be a walk, and I hope that our fans pack their stadium! Quote
mrelegazna Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 Akron -3Over/Under is 42Who would have guessed this at the beginning of the year?Phil Steele.I'll be here all week. Seriously, I'm not too worried either, although I hope the players don't have a "Bah! This'll be a cakewalk as usual." attitude. Another mitigating circumstance to the BG game is BG committed six turnovers. I think it's safe to say we will not.Come to think about it, is this the biggest football game for Can't in decades? If they beat their rival, they go to 3-0 in the MAC East and they still have Buffalo, EMU and Ball State left to play and likely beat. Their players, coaches and fans - all 24 of them - will be super-hyped up (and hopefully tight) for this game, and we have to match them in intensity. Or put another way, we have to take them seriously. If we do, we should win.If not, I move that we pre-emptively ban Antonio Gates from ZN the second the final gun sounds. Quote
