GoZips88
At the North Texas game last Saturday, I turned to those I was sitting with and said we should check the soccer team out to see if any of them can kick an extra point or short- to mid-range field goal. I'm counting on enough TDs tomorrow to take the kicking game out of the equation. I sure hope it doesn't come down to a PAT or FG.
KeeprOFtheHous
word is Mcclain from Huber HTs. Ohio was recruited by OSU but turned them down due to Nuggent
w00t
"Emergency kicker"? McClain should be the first option tomorrow, it would appear there is already a kicking emergency.
zen
lol, I was searching for a pic of Kathy Ireland from Necessary Roughness but couldn't find one.
AkronURocks
According the the Zips game notes, McClain will be wearing #80, but he is not on the 2-deep. CLICK HEREThe soccer team plays Friday night and it looks like mcclain has started every game this season so I imagine he will catch up with the football team after the game against WMU? zipsfan38
I am assuming McClain is on a soccer scholarship of some sort. If he goes and plays football, his scholarship would count against the football teams. Does football have a scholarship to give?

zippyrifle32
are you sure it does, cause you have football players doing track as well, so do their scholarships count against the track team?
zipsfan38
It has been awhile since I checked this, but under the NCAA Rules football is a primary sport meaning if a scholarship recipient in another sport participates in football, that scholarship counts against footballs NCAA limits which is 85.Football scholarship athletes can compete in other sports and the scholarship does not count against that sport. However, if a scholarship athlete from another sport participates in football, than that scholarship than counts towards the football limits. When you have possible two sport athetes the coaches of each sport will work together to recruit the athlete and to make sure there is enough scholarship cap room available.Example:A scholarship football player runs track. The scholarship does not count against track but football.A scholarship track athlete plays football. The schoalrship counts towards footballs limits and not track
Blue & Gold
That makes sense. That would keep UA, or any other D-1 from giving out all their "cross-country" scholarships to 300 lb. defensive linemen! You know a lot of schools would pull a stunt like that. Question: Who's on scholarship through the UA rifle team? Answer: Uh, five 6'4", 285 pounders who also just happen to play football! But we're within our football scholarship limit!!! Buckzip
According to the roster, we aren't close to having used all of our schollies. Since we have had quite a few non qualifiers, the scholies are available.(sorry captain).
ZipAlumn
lol, I was searching for a pic of Kathy Ireland from Necessary Roughness but couldn't find one. That would solve not only the problem with the kicking game, but also the attendance problem. I know so many horny old men that we could even raise the ticket prices for senior citizens. Buckzip
If Kathy Ireland was there, Domontkos wouldn't have a problem getting it up. I mean the football, you sickos.
