AkronURocks
That game made me so sick, I couldn't even bring myself to post all weekend long. Took the family and expected a great day. Came home feeling ill and THEN remembered that I have to wear a Can't State tie to work this week because I lost a bet with a co-worker. Trying not to panic, but 0-2 in the MAC with a loss to Can't STATE stinks. Was going to take the family down to Cincinnati this weekend to see cousins and the Zips and right now don't even want to. Maybe I will regain the enthusiasm to go later in the week. Does the ticket office have an allottment of tickets? My brother in-law is a big Bearcats fan and said he was there last weekend and the team ran the ball well and shut down the Redhawks on offense. We NEED to win this game. Enough ranting from me, anyone else headed South?
Zips Win!
Yes tickets are available. I received mine in the mail on Saturday. There was a letter sent with the tickets stating the following: "Please not that the game versus Cincinnati has been moved to 2pm".First of all, I think they meant to say "Please note.....".Secondly, has the game been moved up to 2 pm or did the ticket office get confused with the Can't game getting moved to 2pm?Dare I ask, where is Scott when you need him?HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! GoZips88
I just noticed that The Disaster Channel has made Saturday's game an instant classic ...Took my 12-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter to the game and ended up leaving after the band played at halftime. STILL feel like crap this morning and agree that we really do need to win at Cincy before heading into the off week.I still can't believe we didn't show up for THE rivalry game ... very poor performance. Yes Can't played well and was up for the game but we're better than we showed. Very embarrassing ...
akronad
Scott left to work in Raleigh, at a concert venue. He couldn't handle working with Mike Waddell. The new guy, Keith doesn't have an idea what's happening. It looks like he is overmatched for the position.Anyways, enough rating. We just need to get back on track and win games. If we go 5-2 the rest of the season, we become bowl qualified.Go Zips!!!!!
AkronURocks
Just talked to my brother-in-law, he says as far as he knows kick-off is still at 3:30. I am pretty sure 6-6 makes you bowl eligible this year with a 12 game schedule.I am also pretty sure 6-6 won't get us in a bowl game. akronad
I just did some research on bowl eligibility. You need a record of 7-5 to be bowl eligible. However, if there are not enough 7-5 teams, they may select teams 6-6.
AkronURocks
As the day goes on starting to feel more like making the trip south to cincinnati. Will discuss with the wife tonight. As far as tickets are concerned.....Scott Hogue messed up my orders on more than a few occasions. I heard differently on why he left (through a friend who knows some folks over in athletics, so take it for what its worth), but I was told he was more or less forced out. Got a new job in NC to save face. Either way, a loss against cincinnati would mean major home attendance issues the rest of the way. Thats a problem regardless of who is in charge of the ticket office.
liljc
I was feeling like cancelling the roadie to cincy as well. I have regained my enthusiasm and am going to be there in full Zips attire. Maybe they were just looking past Can't (inexcusable, btw) and concentrating on getting another win against a BCS opponent? Anyway, I will be there to cheer the Zips on to victory against the queens from Cincinnati.
Buckzip
Come on guys. I know we have our fair share of band wagon fans, but don't come on here and admit it.
RowdyZip
WIN SATURDAY AND (ALMOST) ALL IS FORGIVEN. Seriously, two victories over "BCS" Schools in one year. That'd look mighty good on any bowl resume for a mid major. That and if we pull of the undefeated year at the rubber bowl puts us at 7-5 at the very least. And yeah. I'm not feelin all that well either. Three of my fellow managers at the Ol' Target in Macedonia are Can't alum. I was feelin that all day long today. At least I have the store manager on my side (he's an akron grad)GO ZIPS! And (we just sucked a bit worse on saturday )
fear the brown roo
hogue? wasn't he in charge of tickets at the championship game and motor city bowl? you know, when a huge amount of fans couldn't get in the gate in time to see the kick off? nice enough guy but damn, that was a disaster. UADavid
That was one of the most fouled up efforts I've ever witnessed. Akron fans were still getting to their seats after the first quarter ended.
