This was the saddest excuse for a game I have ever seen by the Akron offense. One good quarter and they didn't show up for the remainder of the game. I think the announcers had it right when they said it looked like Akron was trying to not loose after the big first quarter.I bet our heavily loaded road schedule didn't help the team this season so far. 5 road games out of the first 6 is just horrible scheduling.

For those not "fortunate" enough to have been at Cant last week, the display today in quarters 2 through 4 was identical. No skilled players making plays, poor offensive concept, no capitalizing on mistakes, no pass rush and to top it off, we now have two starters who put themselves ahead of the team. Thanks Crouch and Pace. See the bench? Get used to it. :gun::chair::CK_brew::eek:

now maybe we can stop hearing about a bowl game, and just try to win one game.
I would also like to hear a little less about how Brookhart is going to end up at some BCS school next year; how Getsy is going in the 1st round of the NFL draft; and how we are going to do the number on Ohio State next year. I am a fan (I sat through the Army game last year) but let's stifle the hyperbole and get realistic. I would like to see a consistent offense, less penalties, a defense that can tackle, and coaches that can change a game plan when it doesn't work. :wall:

As I stated after the Cant game, JD is nothing more than a .500 coach. I never could figure out how he was going to another school with that kind of record. Now we are 2-4 and 0-2 in the MAC. Can we get to a bowl, doubtful. Can we win the MAC East, very doubtful. We need to regroup like we did after Army. One thing I ahve thought about all week has ben our schedule for this season. And it became very evident that it really was a three edged sword. First, Mike Thomas didn't do us any favors by not scheduling any home non-league home games. North Texas was added by Mac Rhoads. Which is the second problem, the NCAA added the 12th game so late everyone was scrambling to come up with a viable opponent. Just think, if there was no 12th game, our first home game would not have been until October 21. And lastly, it is a well known fact that Akron is not considered one the favorite teams in the MAC and thus they put the screws to us with the league schedule.Even with all of that, it still does not excuse our poor performances this season.Hopefully we can right the ship.

i agree it does not excuse the poor play, but akron needs to start scheduling winnable home games. that means non bcs schools home and home. your are right about the 12 th game (north texas). if we did not have n.texas we would have been 1-4 right now!!!
