Valpo Zip
There is no way Getsy will be drafted... not even a free agent.
InTheZone
There is no way Getsy will be drafted... not even a free agent. Don't count on that, the scouts like his arm, and in that case, scouts will overlook a less than stellar college career. Remember when the Browns drafted Spergon Wynn? He was a 1-aa quarterback who didn't even complete 50% of his college passes. I don't think Luke will be drafted but he'll get a shot in camp with somebody. Alleman will probably go late 6th to early 7th based on stellar workouts. Reid is too slow and will end up in Canada. Gonzales doesn't have good size (height, he's not the 6'2 he's listed at, more like 5-10) but will get a free agent contract somewhere. T.O Zipfan
Well don't count on Reid to be coming to Canada, with the big field up here he doesn't have the speed or more importantly the endurance or the motor to make it up here...Luke on the other hand could get a look, incidently on the topic of the afore mentioned Mr Wynn, he is currently holding a clip board for the Toronto Argonauts behind Marcus Allen's brother Damon and former K-State QB Michael Bishop

From what I've heard from a pretty reliable source, the scouts that WERE interested in Getsy have backed off an extreme amount. I don't see Luke making it in the league unless he comes out the end of this season against some good teams and make big plays. Reid is slower than last year...but that can improve with speed drills. I heard the Dolphins are looking hard at him. If he can improve his speed, he's got a chance in the 6th-7th round. With his speed last year, he was an animal. Gonzalez is around 6'[, but you're right about free agent chances. I'm interested to see all these boys once they get into post-season workouts. I lot can change within those workouts and combines. Can't wait til that April day comes around!

When you stop to think about it, that's a pretty amazing concept, a General Manager from the Indianapolis Colts and a scout from the Geen Bay Packers... coming to the Akron Rubber Bowl to see 3 free agents, and a 6th or 7th round draft pick. Wow, I wonder who they send for people who go on the first day? Seems kinda strange!

Yeah, the same scout that is responsible for the drafting of Reid also had Cam Yeow drafted into the CFL. Which is not to say that Reid won't come to Hamilton and be on a roster for a year or two, him being canadian will at least get him on a training camp roster. All I'm saying is that the Jermaine Reid that I have seen the last 3 plus years is not CFL defensive lineman material; he just doesn't have the stamina, and he doesn't move well enough...and I promise you that any conditioning he does with any CFL team will not be as well designed, executed or supervised as what he presently gets at Akron. I agree with you that Luke got the arm and may be the accuracy too. But that is not good enough for the NFL. Luke is too soft, he is scared to run and scared to use his hand to push a linebacker away and the worst part is that whenever a linebacker is 2 yards or less from him, he just considers the play over and throws the ball away... no scrambling, no last second pass no nothing. liljc
While I agree with you that Luke is not going to be an NFL qb, I do not agree with you comment that he throws the ball away because he is afraid. As a qb, his job is to live for another day. Sacks put your team in a hole and throwing it away can save valuable yardage. I wish he would put his head down more often when he is scrambling, but qb's are now taught from a very young age to utilize the slide. He slides a bit too often and too early IMO. It almost cost us the NC ST. game. I don't mean to be too ctirical of him, because he's been fun to watch. When Luke is good, he is very good. Hopefully, we will have him for 3 more games.
