Why does the MAC hate us?

The officials, the other teams, the media, ect. I know we are despised by Miami, but it seems like everyone else hates us too. It isn't because we aren't good in football. Buffalo is terrible and Temple just plain sucks, but they aren't looked down upon like we are. We contend and win conference titles in many of the "other" sports like Track, Soccer, and so on, yet we are treated like nobodies no matter where we go, or what we do. We desperately need to get out of this conference. It is destroying our school.

The only sports that I have noticed the hatred in are Football and Basketball. For all other sports everything seems fine.

I agree. I like Big East football, I think it is underrated and I would LOVE to be invited to join the Big East. But look at us, we're not close to being a Big East caliber program. First things first, we need to dominate the MAC. With the high school football talent in NE Ohio and western PA, there's no reason we shouldn't be the next Marshall, but we're probably a good 6 years and a new stadium away from doing that. I think we can. But then again, so could Ohio or Miami. We need to get on the ball and just take care of our business. If we do that, screw the rest of the MAC and what they think of us!

I don't think we should get out of the MAC, at least until we are able to win consistantly in most sports, then go to the next level. And I don't understand why everyone thinks that the MAC hates us. What does the MAC have to do with scheduling our games, I thought that was the responsibility of our Athletic Dept. Do we get bad calls from the officials and sometimes the short end of the stick. Yes we do but my observations is that every team in the MAC does because overall we have some of the worst officials I have ever seen in any conference, both in basketball and football. As for other teams hating us, well that I put down to team spirit and rivalry. Last year FOX Sports and this year ESPN certainy have shown the MAC (and especially the ZIPS with their record) some love with their TV schedules.

I don't understand. What do they do to us that shows they hate us?How are we disrespected by the MAC? I have never picked that up, but then again, I know others follow more closely than I.Right now, I think the MAC is a good fit.Even if we win a lot, I don't think the Big East would ever let us in.C-USA would be the only other possibility. Quite honestly, I don't think that's much of a step up.

Conference USA gets more guaranteed bowls, the MAC gets 2, that's why Marshall left, a better chance to make a bowl.

Starting this year the MAC gets 3 guaranteed bowl bids and we are a backup for a 4th now.As for the hatrid thing, I haven't heard UT fans saying they hate or dislike Akron.

There is no foundation for this "hate" thing.I think it's just one person's opinion.I've never picked up any disrespect from the conference.Where are the examples?And I still don't think C USA is that much of a step up from the MAC. They've lost their quality programs to the Big East, who is losing it's quality programs to the ACC.
