Valpo Zip
We are still ranked 8... no other MAC team is in the top 25http://www.midmajortop25.com/Which proves 2 things:1 - We are 2 -
ZachTheZip
It's about time. We didn't move from our spot in the preseason poll. That's not bad considering the number of "suprise" teams out there this year.
zipseuph
we're not MAC Camps yet, but I must agree that
Buckzip
We need to keep it going. This is our year to get to the NCAA tourney and make some noise.
Zip90
What the heck is Robert Morris doing at #14.
meatwad
I have no idea why Robert Morris is that high.
zip81
Who does this report? I have never seen it before.Do you think it is credible?
ZachTheZip
It is a poll made up of various coaches from all of the mid-major conferences. It is basically a coaches' poll. The voters are at the bottom of the page, I think. It is sponsored by collegeinsider.com
ZipAlumn
I have no idea why Robert Morris is that high. Robert Morris has a 5-1 record having lost only to Pittsburgh and having defeated Duquesne, Maine, New Hampshire, Marshall, and Florida International. This is another team like Oral Roberts that for years has been a fairly good mid major with a shot at the NCAA tournament.
johnnyzip84
Robert Morris made some noise a while back (early '80s I think) by winning a 1st round game in the NCAA tourney. They play the other Pittsburgh area D1 schools (Pitt, Duquesne, WVU) every year and pretty much lose to them every year. They defeated the Dukes (obviously a weaker team with the shooting incident on top of a breaking in a new coach) for what I believe is possibly their 1st (at the most 2nd) win over any of these local rivals. Of course, of Northern Illinois 3 wins, 2 are over Duquesne so that might not be all that impressive. RMU DID beat Marshall in Huntington, for what is probably their biggest win this yeat and only lost to Pitt by 13 or so (was a 5 point half-time deficit).
