  1. Speaking of playing against the "big" schools, did anyone notice the negativity towards their own team on the UMass board?Sounded to me like they were complaining about attendance, and thanking God that they had even made it as far as they have.Hopefully they will overlook Akron, and we can pull one off on them.
  2. Funny. They are complaining about the play when the ref got knocked down, and they actually believe that the ref was going to make the call against Akron.Their player first committed a reach in to knock the ball away, then, dials had position on him (was basically boxing him out while trying to get the ball back), and their guy knocks dials over to get to the ball, and in the process takes out the ref, and they think the ref was going to call Akron for a foul? Too funny.
  3. When is this league EVER going to get these frickin idiot referees under control?Once again, like ever other year, the MAC refs will help to ruin the MAC's chances of getting any respect. It's really getting old.
  4. I was at the game, and I don't think there was a 'bump' call. Nick dribbled twice, and was in the air when the guy slammed into him. I was surrounded by UD fans, and all of them were crapping their pants because they new another overtime was coming after Nick was getting 3 more shots. None of them could believe that they called it a two shot foul. These are the same fans that thought ALL of the calls against UD were bad calls throughout the game.
  5. That's what I've been thinking all along. We (the fans and the team) need to be of the mindset that....1) The MAC will never get at large bids, and2) If you want to get into the tournament, you MUST win the MAC tourney, PERIOD.If we play with that in mind, then we don't have to worry about all the rest of it.
  6. So, this is the picture of Oden getting "MAULED" by the Xavier player (from this mornings local paper)..I guess the Xavier player WAS, in fact, Mauling Oden's underarm!
  7. It wouldn't be a shame for a call like that to decide the game?A call like that (THE WRONG CALL) did decide the game, against the wrong team.It was 100% an intentional foul, and the wrong call decided it the wrong way.I don't care if the Xavier player did miss the second shot, they should have had the ball too.
  8. Just finished watching the Xavier game, and what a crock of SH*T! Once again, the refs have to make sure that one of the big boys doesn't get beat in a close game. Near the end of the game, with Xavier up by 2, the State Public College of Ohio (aka OSU) player, absolutely and without question shoved the Xavier player out of bounds after he rebounded their tOSU's last attempt at a shot. It was a total, and unequivocal intentional foul (he wasn't going for the ball in the least, he simply shoved him to the floor), and OF COURSE, the refs didn't call the intentional foul, only a 'normal' foul. So instead of Xavier getting the shots, and the ball back (which would have sealed the game), they only got to shoot two shots (and of course missed one), letting the other team score a three in regulation to go into overtime and take over the game.If the frickin refs would have made the correct call, Xavier would have won the game, but OH NO, you have to keep the BCS schools in to the end if you can!
  9. I think we all need to give Rick a break, after all, he barely escaped being caught up in the scandal that took down Jim Obrien at Ohio Stink, and secondly, Wright State made it into the big dance this year, their first year WITHOUT HIM coaching. He must feel pretty sh*tty about that.
  10. FEEL FREE TO USE THESE IMAGES FOR WHATEVER!
  11. Hopefully this team (and coaching staff) will stew on this all Summer/Fall, and come back with a frickin vengeance. I hope that in every game we play next season, they don't hold back, and blow teams out by as many points as possible. Don't put the subs in, and keep bustin 3's and pounding it inside till the last second ticks off the clock. Show no mercy, and DESTROY everyone they face. We'll have Wood, Middleton, Dials, and Milum back, plus whoever else wants to get in on the butt-whoopins.Let this whole fiasco feed the fire, let it simmer, and come back out-for-blood next season!!!
  12. I captured the video off the TV last night, and posted it on the web. Here is the link...Top Ten Play Video (WMV format)I don't know if I'm violating some kind of copyright of ESPN's, but if anyone knows, please let me know and I'll take it down (I'm not trying to or actually making any money from this video, so I don't think there is a violation.)Thx.
  13. The drive/pass/basket at the end of the game from Dials to Wood.
  14. I get SO tired of the "can't blame the refs" mentallity on this board. It's like saying that you can't complain about the weather unless you are a certified meteorologist. B.S. When the reffing is bad, it is bad. You don't have to be a ref to know when it sucks. The refs didn't officiate the game, they controlled it. The fact is, they were a total factor in this game. Yes, they made bad calls both ways, but I have never seen a game where the calls going against one of the teams (akron) were at all the critical points in the game.Late in the game, Linhart gets totally run over (knocked to his back) in the lane - - - no call. Then, the miami player that knocked him to the ground continues to drive, and the ref calls a phantom call (absolutely no contact) on a different akron player (shooting foul, of course). It was the same thing all night long (at all the critical points). It was THE DEFINITION of home court advantage (textbook case). The sad thing is, it happens at all the home courts in the MAC, and that is the reason that the MAC will never get two teams into the big dance. The committee knows how piss-poor the refs are in the MAC, and every team has way too big a home court advantage. Unless one team is overwhelmingly better than another, the home team wins (period). It is a total joke.
  15. can someone post updates? I'm away from the computer tonight, and the MotorolaQ doesn't allow me to see the live stats or hear the listen live stuff.thx.
  16. anyone have individual stats?
  17. the game s tonight, right? can anyone post score/updates?thanks.
  18. I'd have to agree with Travis being listed in the 'bad' column. He just looks like he hates being on the court anymore.I'd also have to trade middleton for dials in the 'bad' column. Dials was 1 of 4, and 2 were partially blocked and one he was fouled on (not mostly open looks). Ced, on the other hand, was 1 of 7, and they were pretty much all open shots. What killed it for us though was foul shooting.Ced and Nick combined were 6 of 6 from the stripe, so the rest of the team gets the blame for that. It was a team loss all around, but still, we could've beaten them.
  19. I think it is a result of the general attitude around these forums that you absolutely are not allowed to criticize Dru or Romeo or Ced, but if you want to criticize any of the white players, it's ok. And, if you have anything good to say about the other players, you must be a relative of said player (i.e. like their mom or something). That's generally how it goes on here.
  20. What the heck is Robert Morris doing at #14.
  21. Hmmm, of course, pick his worst games, and his stats look that bad.He was second on the team in scoring (on a bad leg). Second leading assist man on the team. Led the team in steals. He had 17 points against Temple in the first NCAA post season win ever for AU.etc, etc, etc.If you look at only the bad, then you will see only the bad.I think he'll prove you wrong this season.Oh, and if it is so easy to make free throws with no-one guarding you, then why are the other players missing so many? It cuts both ways.
  22. Lets try to support our TEAM. We cant win them all, and I know expectations are high for our zips this year. Are season is far from over after one game. The whole team played poorly and I can't think of one of our guys that had an awsome game. We can still do alot of damage this year and make the ncaa torneys. But we obviously need to work and improve on alot of areas. We have the talent we just need to put it together.
  23. So Dials lost the game for the zips?Well, lets look at some stats:Team 3-pt shooting: 4 for 14Team Rebounds: 36 to 24 (UALR wins) ** Dials was the LEADING rebounder with 7 (hmmm where are the big men??)Dials LED the team in assists (hmmm why do they stick with him??) ** could've had about 3 more if the big guys could make a dunk or two when they get his passes.Team FT's:23 of 33 (Middleton 1 of 4 - WONDER WHY HE WASN'T HANDLING THE BALL AT THE END OF THE GAME!!!!!!!) Dials 5 of 5.** I guess Dials should have somehow made the team make the 10 freethrows that were missed? If they would've made them, we would've won by 8 points.Linhart had a technical called on him for yelling at the ref (along with the personal foul he was originally called for), and this cost the team 4 points when the game was tied. (Should Dials have kept Nate from yelling at the ref ??)Wood missed a box out after two FT misses by UALR, then UALR got it back and got fouled again, then made both free throws (was Dials supposed to block out Wood's man??)It's hard for me to understand why anyone, who knows anything about basketball, would blame the loss on one player instead of the team. Based on the crap that has been posted on this site by the bandwagon gang, however, I guess I see the problem. This was the FIRST game of the season. Support the team and quit trying to tear it apart, person by person.OH YEAH, and about the Toledo game, how many turnovers did Dru and Ced have down the stretch? Was Dials supposed to keep them from making the turnovers too? The team lost the game, not just one person.
