sgm405 Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 Some random thoughts on what I want to see tomorrow:- The two lower student sections filled with STUDENTS. I'm losing more and more respect for Mack Rhoades (especially after he ignored...err...failed to respond to a professional, respectful email that I wrote to him about the student sections) but he can fix everything by letting the students do what they do best. Heck, if things aren't filled by 6:45, sell those tickets...but at least give the STUDENTS first dibs at the seats in the STUDENT section. - Speaking of these students, I want them to be out in full force and I want the two sections filled, with any student allowed down low regardless of whether or not they have "the shirt"...unless of course extra shirts are brought for those that don't have them. Please, do not turn away students that want to sit low and get crazy.- Get crazy? Hecks ya. Everyone in the lower sections needs to be loud and proud. Be the 6th man. Forget the cutesy cheers - good, solid, loud "Defense" and "Let's Go Zips" chants accompanied by the good ol "jump and make random noise" will do the trick. Loud and generic > creative and only half the people doing it. - Alumni sections that do more than occupy a seat. Look, I appreciate each and every one of you. I realize you pay good money for your seats and that I go to games for free. I also realize that I'm younger than the alumni fans and my body can take more standing, jumping, yelling. I understand all of that...I really do. But please understand that the Alumni could be the key for tomorrow. The students will make noise...count on it. If the Alumni can chime in and help, it will create an amazing home court advantage. Stand at key times (not necessarily all the time), clap, help chant the chants...help us help them!- Bring back the theatrics. As someone else stated, let's hear the Undertaker music played when the opposition is being introduced. Let's announce Romeo Travis last - he is the star, not Nate Linhart. Let's play some better-suited "pump-up" music for when our starters are introduced. Let's bring back the Zippy cartoon. Get the fans into it!- Jimmy Conyers starting over Nate Linhart. Conyers has improved little by little...Linhart seems to keep getting worse. Reward Jimmy for his improvement and add athleticism to the starting lineup...we'll need it. - A Zips win...damnit, we need this. This could be the spark for the rest of the year...cmon guys...GO ZIPS! Quote

God I hope so...I'm sorry, the music just isn't good "intro" music...a suggestion (if anyone actually sees this that has a say in it) - Right Here, Right Now - Fatboy Slim Quote
RowdyZip Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 Vegas line: Nevada (+1.5) @ AkronSo i guess we're the favorites...even if ever so slightly... Quote
skip-zip Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 Thanks Rowdy. It looks like the line is moving in our favor. It would appear as if plenty of folks are respecting our home court record. THIS NOW PUTS THE PRESSURE ON US TO BE THERE, IN FULL FORCE, LIKE WE HAVE FOR OTHER IMPORTANT GAMES OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS.
