RowdyZip
So the Zips are favored by 6 on the road. Tempting to bet on YSU to beat that spread, but we'll let it go. Zips win by about that much...we'll go with 5.Zips 74YSU 69Oh...and you youngstown-familiar folks...what's a good place to park near the gym? I'll be heading up a little before gametime and sit in general admission if any other Zips fans wanna join. Won't be hard to spot, I'll have at least 4 pieces of Akron garb on.GO ZIPS! eguins
Park in the M-24 Lot on Campus. It is adjacent to McDonald's and Stambaugh Stadium. It's off Fifth Avenue, I believe on Arlington.. Just turn right on Fifth at the McDonald's and then on your left you can enter the lot.Any other questions throw them my way.GO PENGUINS

Indians06
I think its going to be close. YSU is a tuff place to play in, they are a good team too. I don't think we can beat them there this year. On the flip they don't beat us at the JAR this season
eguins
Storylines and Sidebars...• Senior guard Quin Humphrey is in 14th place on the all-time YSU scoring charts following a 20-point outing against Loyola. Humphrey now has 1,376 points.• Head Coach Jerry Slocum is just six wins shy of 600 for his career. Slocum’s 594 career victories rank 13th among active coaches. Among Division I coaches, he ranks sixth.• Humphrey has scored in double figures in 40 of 41 games since the start of last season, including 26 straight. In that time, he has scored over 20 points on 12 occasions.• Senior guard Keston Roberts has scored at least 20 points in six straight games and double figures in the past 12 contests.• The Penguins have beaten two Mid-American Conference schools this year (Central Michigan and Can't State). It is the first time since 2002-03 that the Guins have defeated two MAC schools in the same year.• YSU is 7-0 when holding an opponent under 40-percent shooting and 7-1 when having a higher FG percentage. The Guins are 6-1 when holding an opponent under 70 points.
Balki Bartokomous
We are not playing Duke here. Its YSU. Akron wins by 20.
GoZips88
No love for YSU here. I'd rather play Cleveland State. Akron 79-64.

Zips fan
I just don't see YSU as a big challenge. I think the Zips hammer them 88-72.
JP Morgan
Having seen YSU on local TV here in Y-town a few times this season, I would warn you all not to overlook this YSU team. The team is very athletic and WELL-coached. The Behgly center will be empty as it has been all year so don't look for a home court advantage in that regard. We need to be physical with YSU and keep them from having second shot opportunities.....that's what killed Can't.This will be my first Zip game this season and my 2 year olds first Zip Game ever.....I'm pumped!GO ZIPS! Empty ehhhh? They've had 2 crowds over 3000 already this year in 4 home games... I don't think it will be empty, I do know of at least 10 people who are going, who haven't even been to a game yet. This will be a dandy! YSU Has won 5 of 6, the only loss to Robert Morris by 1 point. If you can't make it............Watch the game LIVE online @ http://ysusports.com for FREE brought to you by Fox 17.62 in Youngstown. JP Morgan
YSU attendance this year:v. Loyola 2,615v. Lock Haven 3,407v. Canasius 1,479v. Slippery Rock 1,534Source http://www.ysu.edu/sports/mens_bball/20060...ts/teamstat.htm2 games over 3,000?I wasn't flaming as we Zip fans have no room to run smack when it comes to attendnance. The point of my comment was that there will be no major "home court" advantage other than the colors on the floor will be red and black rather than blue and gold. I project an announced crowd of 3,200 with about 2,700 butts in the stands (Mine included). One thing Zips and 'Guins can agree on is that I'm looking forward to a good game.JP
eguins
Well I thought there was 3000 vs. Loyola. I guess I was told wrong..Regardless.... If there is 3000 there, YSU fans will be loud. Last year vs. Butler, 5000+ and vs. Loyola 3000+ it was extremely loud, but of course they were awesome games. Many YSU fans in the chairbacks are the Penguin Club members and are old and do not stand up much during the game, but I certainly will be.I will try to take some photos tonight.GO GUINS
ZippyMania
We better not be looking ahead to OHIO as YSU will be up for this one. Our FT shooting has been iffy at best too. That's never a good thing for a road game. Not thriled that they are playing with some confidence. Zips are obviously a better team but the road is never an easy place to be when playing a team that's won some games in a row. With that said, I said to take the points with UIC and give them with Nevada. UIC was a win and Nevada a push. I say take the 8 with YSU in a closer game then it should be. Road chalk is never a good thing either....unless you are playing Niagara missing it's best playerZips 74 YSU 71Hopefully we win this one as we can lose SU if we don't bring it tonight.
