RowdyZip
Sunday, January 21st 2:00pm @ James A. Rhodes arena...The University of Akron Zips 12-4 (3-1, 1st MAC) vs.The University at Buffalo Bulls 9-8 (1-3, 6th MAC)(records assuming a Buffalo loss at Ohio tonight)Keys to the game: *Control the post, take it to Idbihi (6'10" 260 SR) on the offensive end as Buffalo lacks sizeable skilled players in the post (Idbihi on the bench, we control the blocks). *Slap Cedrick on Eric Moore man-to-man: Moore (6'1" 190 SO) averages 7.3 attempts per game from beyond the arc. He needs a hand in the face consistently. *Wear 'em down: Buffalo lacks the depth of the Zips (similiar to Can't). 5 Starters averaging more that 30 minutes per game and only two more on the squad logging more than 10 min. Look for the Bulls to hang with the Zips early and then fade at the end of the first half. My prediction: Buffalo provides a somewhat similiar defensive struggle to Miami (opponents averaging just under 63 points per game) Zips win the second half by 15 points, and the game by a 18.Zips 72Buffalo
UAZipster0305
This is a dangerous game in that the UB starters compete well with the nations best as evident in their game against Pitt in which UB had the lead going into the final 5 minutes. However, as mentioned by RowdyZip, the bench isn't as deep as it needs to be to beat UA (as was also evident against Pitt).I still think we'll win, but it will be closer than the Can't game because .We should (and need to) win all games leading up to the next one against OU. One game at a time though...In retrospect, it's amazing how badly those losses to UA-LR and UIC look on our tournament resume right now. ZachTheZip
This has all the makings of a letdown game. We have to win all of our remaining home games and UB is no exception. I will be there cheering on the Zips. I honestly hope UB beats OU tonight, although I know it is a longshot. It wouls give us outright control over the MAC East. Valpo Zip
I hope Buffalo bring their Pitt perfromance tonight against OU. Unless something extra-ordinary happens Sunday, we should have no problem beating Buffalo. As of tonight, Go Bulls !
GoZips88
Buffalo's live audio broadcast is available FREE (imagine that ...) HEREfor anyone interested. I listened to a game or two last year and their broadcasters are decent. Go Bulls (tonight).
Bleacher Bum
OU is a 10.5 point favorite tonight against the Bulls.
