rocketfootball
Hill is not qualified yet. Hopefully for Akron he is able to get qualified, but it's not for certain at this point.
ZachTheZip
I think he will become qualified for Akron. There was no way he would have been able to get into Virginia. They are pretty tough when it comes to grades.
Zips fan
I think he will become qualified for Akron.Akron is not the ones who certify eligibility. It is the NCAA. If his test scores and grades meet the NCAA Clearinghouse criteria he would be eligible to play at all NCAA DI-A schools. If you are eligible, many football programs, are able to get you into their school regardless of admission standards for the general student body. Buckzip
Although the NCAA clears players to play, some schools have their own requirements too. That is where you will see that someone didn't have the correct scores to get into one school, yet they were fine somewhere else.
Zipmeister
If Akron signs this guy I fear they will get what they deserve. I'd rather see a scholarship offered to a no-star who wants to be here.
gozips19
it doesn't really sound like that was the case with hill. he just was torn over two schools. he grew up in the d.c. area a big fan of UVA and always dreamed of playing there. he didn't think he'd get an offer so he looked at other schools and fell in love with the coaches at akron and mentioned his bond with coach Alford. his dream school came into the picture late and the kid had to think it over. should he have publicly gone back and forth so much? of course not but he's in high school cut him some slack. many bigger profile players are starting to do this, lets be happy we got a great player with tons of ability! SoFlaZip
While I believe the statement, " I fear they will get what they deserve", is over the top presumably not knowing the character of the individual, I whole heartedly agree with you that a scholarship should be offered to some one (a D-1 or potential D-1 player of course) who really want's to be here. Way to much time and effort is expended kissing the a$$e$ of far to many of these non qualifying or potentially non-qualifing TEENAGERS.Put the offer on the table, set a deadline for acceptance, accept or recind by deadline date, then MOVE ON. Given their academic record, for what ever reason, they should be appreciative someone is willing to take a chance on them to the detriment of hundereds of academically qualified students not blessed with the natural ability to jump as high, run as fast. or throw as straight.
