ZachTheZip
With all this excitement, I almost forgot that the new AP, Coaches, and Mid-Major Top 25 polls come out today. We've won 3 road games in a row since the last polls, so that can only help us. We had 3 votes in the last AP poll, 7 votes in the last Coaches poll, and we were #9 in the last Mid-Major Top 25. A lot of teams ahead of us have lost at least one game this past week, but I don't expect us to gain much ground in the AP. I think we will do much better in the Coaches poll, and we should jump at least two spots in the MM Top 25.I think our only shot at an at-large lies in the hands of the voters in these polls. The selection committee has to look long and hard at any team that does well in these polls. I know a lot of things need to fall our way to get in, and the polls are a major part of it. Alternatively we could just win the MAC tournament to get in, but that would make too much sense, and sense is not something I am willing to think about right now. skip-zip
uakronkid...I pretty much feel the same way.We only have two things working in our favor right now. We can make a case that our record gets us in, and that our ranking in these polls should get us in.Unfortunately, the committee will see our "bad losses", no wins over any ranked teams, and our strength of schedule. We also missed our chances to really make a statement by losing at Miami and Toledo. I still believe that when it comes down to it, those teams from the power conferences, with 5 more losses than us, that can show wins over ranked teams, will get the nod over us.But let's keep hoping. timmyboy
come on coaches and AP. Give us some respect.... we dominated Cant at their own place, a place they dont lose very often (37 wins in 39 tries) we dominated them, but we allowed them to get back into it with mistakes, but in the end we did pull it out.... so show us some love! Valpo Zip
I think that we should crack the top 5 in the midmajor poll. 3 big wins on the road should mean something.
BirdZip
If I'm reading the Coaches' poll correctly, we had 7 votes/points last week and NONE THIS WEEK! {Coaches}

ZachTheZip
If I'm reading the Coaches' poll correctly, we had 7 votes/points last week and NONE THIS WEEK! {Coaches}You are correct. I don't believe this. You would think that at least the few people who had us ranked would have given us votes again. Its not like we lost at all, infact, we won 3 road games in a row since the last poll. Does anybody know where you can find out who gave us votes last week? I would love to send them a e-mail, and I'm sure a few of you guys wouldn't mind joining me as well.
skip-zip
I see that Charlie Coles from Miami (OH) is on the coaches panel. Could it be that he didn't vote for us anymore after they beat us?
blueandgold
I see that Charlie Coles from Miami (OH) is on the coaches panel. Could it be that he didn't vote for us anymore after they beat us? That is pretty ridiculous considering that he just said we deserve an at-large bid in Sunday's Beacon Journal. Here's the quote. BS!``Akron's a team that even if they don't win (the MAC Tournament), they still ought to be considered for an at-large bid (to the NCAA Tournament),'' Coles said.
