timsum1283 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 since no one seems to have started this, i guess i will.Right now it is 33-25 with 3:20left.Nick Dials' injury is apparently an ankle sprain and could return. The Zips won't go very far without him. The refs seem to be doing a mediorce job at best which is unsurprising but foul trouble is a big concern thus far. Middleton is getting a lot more playing time now, mainly because Dials is out, but he seems to be showing us why he is the 6th man of the year. Also, our offense needs to slow it down and stop taking so many threes, especially early. There have been 10 Akron turnovers so far and that is really keeping the Chippawas in the game.Free throws 3-7 for the zips Quote
zippyrifle32 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 EARTH QUADE!!!good way to go into the locker room. Quote
timsum1283 Posted March 9, 2007 Author Report Posted March 9, 2007 39-28 lead at the half with a Quade Milum dunk. Quote
zippyrifle32 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 we should be up by more, but having toom any offensive fouls and stupid turnovers...any word on dials? Quote
ziptrumpet87 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Dials played the last :30 or so... I suspect KD wanted to see how well he could play on it before going to the locker room. Quote
ziptrumpet87 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Dials is back in for the start of the 2nd half. Quote

ziptrumpet87 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I'd like to see more of the bench in now. Quote
InTheZone Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Get the bench in, save the starters legs for tomorrow Quote
timsum1283 Posted March 9, 2007 Author Report Posted March 9, 2007 so would you guys rather play Can't State for a third time and go for the ultimate in bragging rights but also risk playing a better team, or play Western Michigan?I personally want WMU b/c it would be an easier game IMO, but if we played them then that means WMU will have beaten Can't and will be hot. Also, kudos to Nick Dials- 25 minutes with an ankle sprain yet managed to get 8 rebounds and 10+ points (i think). Quote
Zips fan Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I think the sweep is plenty of bragging rights. I would rather WMU, it would be their third game of the tournament. Quote
meatwad Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 definitely would rather play WMU. Can't is not better than us by any means, but its hard to beat a team 3 times in a year. Quote
Zips fan Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 82-53!!! Way to go ZIPS!! Great first step-keep it going!!! Quote
ZipAlumn Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 definitely would rather play WMU. Can't is not better than us by any means, but its hard to beat a team 3 times in a year. And the congregation said "AMEN". I'd much rather play a tired Western Michigan, a team we match up much better with, than Can't State for the third time. Can't is a team that plays with a lot of emotion and after last Sunday their emotional level will be sky high. Quote
zip81 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Dials was an absolute stud tonight. After coming back from the locker room with his injury, he was mixing it up in the paint, forcing turnovers and slamming down 3's.You have to respect a player like that. Quote
