Zips fan Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I don't want to think too much about this issue but I was looking at ESPN's website. Here is a breakdown on their bubble teams:Winners:Michigan, Florida State, Xavier, Michigan State, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Illinois, Oklahoma State, Akron, and Georgia.Losers:Clemson, Alabama, Syracuse, Air Force, UMass, and WVU. Yeah...well...some big upsets in the major conferences have burst the zips bubble (if it was ever there in the first place). The biggest reasons were UCLA losing to Cal and Maryland losing to Miami. Both of those teams are locks, regardless. In other words, two less fringe bubble teams off the list. It would take a LOT of things going PERFECT for the Zips to get in without the auto bid. First and foremost would be us beating Can't Statecks tommorrow.Random thought: we bitch about the LeBron connection and how it's overplayed by the media from time to time. Had we won a couple more games, could that connection play into the decisions of the selection committee? Quote
