bigzipguy Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Saw a post on the flushes message board located off of ncaabs site, that Dials has a high ankle sprain. If this is true , we have problems. Quote
ziptrumpet87 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 that's what was in the paper also. he played the 2nd half last night, but I don't know how far in the next game he will be able to go on it.Linhart should be back from his stitched up eye. Steve French said he looked like a boxer sitting on the bench last night: eye swollen shut and his hand bandaged up. Quote
zip81 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 also hear that Toledo's leading scorer...Holmes...out for the rest of the season with a broken bone in the foot. Quote
GoZips88 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 also hear that Toledo's leading scorer...Holmes...out for the rest of the season with a broken bone in the foot. It is actually Keonta Howell who hurt his foot and I couldn't find anything on the Toledo web site (surprise) confirming that he'll be out. The Toledo Blade article mentioned that he may try to play tonight. Quote
blueandgold Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Ankle sprain, shmankle sprain. He will play. Quote
BZip_08 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 He was playing full power last night and that was with his "ankle sprain." We all knew one person wasn't going to carry this team, it has to be everybody full on. How many players were in double digits last night- 5? Quote
zipsbandman Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Dials will play on one leg if he has to. He was a beast even after the sprain. He was still able to hustle and drain those threes. Quote
blueandgold Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 We're not playing Tiffin here. Everything is on the line from here on out and there is plenty of off-season coming up to rest any ankles, thumbs or whatever! Everyone will be playing if we truely want to become Quote
Valpo Zip Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 We're not playing Tiffin here.I know, we're playing Can't... what's your point ? at least Tiffin doesn't suck ! Quote
blueandgold Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I know, we're playing Can't... what's your point ? at least Tiffin doesn't suck ! My point is that everyone will play and we are going to go out and kick Can'ts ass...again! Quote
zen Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I have had ankle sprains that I could get back on and losen up the same day, but which swelled and stiffened up like a MFer the next day and took atleast 3 or 4 days before i could do anything more than ginger gimping. You can tape it up but it's not just a matter of pain. You lose a lot of mobility. Quote
blueandgold Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I know where you're coming from zen. I've had the same things, plus broken bones. Playing through it has a lot to do with what tendons or bones are affected, how severe the injury is and what is on the line at the time. Make no mistake, Dials and Linhart will not be at 100%, but I believe they can still play. Quote
ziptrumpet87 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 OK, so Dials will be back to his old knee-braced mobility... we'll still kick the snot out of them. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Dials and Linhart are TOUGH! Dials seems to get whacked in the face every other game, and Linhart is still diving for loose balls and playing good defense even with a broken finger. I hope they rested really well last night. We'll need all the help we can get if we want to blow out Can't State instead of just beating them. Quote
Quickzips Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 On another injury update.I feel like I've been run over by an 18 wheeler. Started feeling REAL bad on the drive back to Akron last night and barely slept. Going over to the doctor now. He better give me some strong stuff cause I don't wanna be staying at home for this one. Quote
skip-zip Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I've had ankle problems, and it seems that most of the time, if it is going to swell, it usually does it fairly quickly. He could have gotten it re-taped before it swelled. But either way, if it was serious, even if he stayed on it and kept it loose, it would still hurt like hell every time his heel touched down hard on the floor. So, my guess is, it's probably not a bad sprain. Let's just hope 24 hours, and some ice and some whirlpools, will get him ready to go. Quote
Dr Z Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Best thing for all the injuries, soak it in cider. Quote
