Guzijeff Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 After the Zips beat the sweaters tonight, ESPN is projecting Akron as a 12 with a rematch against.....Nevada as a 5.It gets better.Using their projected bracket and a run by Akron to the sweet 16, the Zips could face....The Suckeyes.Wowhttp://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology Quote
sgm405 Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Could you imagine the reaction if we upset the Suckeyes? How about we worry about making the tournament before we talk about winning two games and upsetting the top team in the nation, eh? Quote
zip81 Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Yes, talk about anything past tonight is not productive.Let's keep our eye on the prize! Quote
zip81 Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Yes, talk about anything past tonight is not productive.Let's keep our eye on the prize! My apologies....GO ZIPS BEAT CRYAMI The only thing you have to apologize for is not including this in your post: Quote
BirdZip Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Yes, talk about anything past tonight is not productive. OK, perhaps we're confusing ourselves with the players. Our looking forward to the brackets is NOT going to affect tonight's game. In fact, it might get everyone more psyched up for it, and therefore be even louder. Is there really any Zips fan who hasn't been thinking about the big dance???On the subject of the brackets, I think 12 is a perfect seeding. The highest seed you will have to beat is a 4 to get to the sweet 16, and if a 13 knocks off the 4 (which has been happening more lately), you get an even easier route. Quote
zen Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 I don't necessarily agree that it should be some kinda board rule that you can't look past the current game, but I personally don't like to participate in it for two reasons:1) Superstition2) You feel like an arse and look like a goof when you sat around talking about the big dance when your team got tripped up before before it ever got there. That says it all.I'm a former baseball player....respect the streak. Wear the same socks you wore last night. Quote
RowdyZip Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 How 'bout this...Can we rush the court if we win? Quote
Valpo Zip Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 We will be a pathetic student organization if we win and don't storm the court. Quote
zip81 Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 We will be a pathetic student organization if we win and don't storm the court. I don' know...did you see all that security that lined the court after last night's game.Storming the court could be a risky proposition. Quote
Ryno aka Menace Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Man we haven't won anything this big ever we definitely should storm the court!! Quote
FearTheRoo Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 We will be a pathetic student organization if we win and don't storm the court. A birdie told me today that we won't be met with much resistence if we do! SHhhhhhh!!!As for the Nevada prediction, that can't happen. I thought there was some rule about not playing a team we faced in the regular season schedule in the first round of the NCAA tourney (just like you can't face someone in your conference). If I'm right, the ESPN Bracketology folks are morons! Quote
Apollo Creed Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 I am as big of an Akron fan as the next guy, but you guys are idiots. Upset Ohio State? In your dreams. Don't be stupid. Akron doesn't have the athletes (or the size) to hang with OSU. They'd be lucky to break the 40-point barrier. Quote
zippyrifle32 Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 any team can beat any other team on any night...especially in the ncaa tournament. chances might not be that high, but it's still a possibility Quote
