Why since the day of my birth (January 1965) have no northeast Ohio teams been able to finish and have been crushed by the drive, fumble, shot and bank?It must be my fault.I'm sorry.
I always thought it was my fault... now that you claim guilt, i can sleep better at night. :D Thank you cpaZip

I thought it was my fault Ced missed that free throw because i was getting ready to rush the court instead of putting my hands up for the "Whoosh" thing. Boy, do I sound superstitious.
Well...I was pretty sure we lost because last night I parked at tower city instead of national city again...5 minutes to the selection show....we can still hope....

I'm not holding out that much hope, but I'm gonna watch anyways, just on the odd chance that some miracle happens.

What's funny is I am usually one who will not get excited until the last seconds of the game. Well I let my guard down and started rushing to the tunnel, and of course it turned out much progressed in my absence. Boy did I feel like an idiot. Therefore, I refuse to watch the selection show and get my hopes up like that again.

Why did we lose? The answer is up for debate. There are a thousand things that went wrong within a time span of about ten minutes. One thing I have yet to see discussed is team depth. The Zips were not a very deep team this year. Sure someone always stepped up when someone else had a bad night, but that does not equate to depth. It means that the team was flexible. Playing Can't wore us out. Miami easily dispatched toledo, but Can't almost took us to the wire by never giving up until the final buzzer sounded. One other thing that hurt us, but could be ignored up until now was the lack of an extra scholarship player on the team, due to the Bubba controversy. Next year we will regain that scholarship, and it looks like we will get to use it on a player who can immediately contribute. That extra talent on the court will be huge and could turn around close games in favor of the Zips. Injuries also took their toll on the Zips. It's tough not to get tired out on the court when you are getting hacked non-stop and no one will blow a whistle to stop it. Oh well, its all in the past now. Off to the NIT. It would be nice to get an invite to the pre-season NIT next year and it would do wonders for our schedule.

i still blame it on the clock operator. the clock should have started when the ball was touch off the missed free throw, and not when miami gained posession an turned to go up court. Even the people on espn said that the clock would have ran out had they started it when the ball was touched.... but enough with the past, not it is time to go out into the NIT and just dominate!

i still don't get how time was addedif the clock started late, then it should have been looked at as the game should have ended sooner than it did, thus they should have been looking at how much time should be subtracted and if the shot would have counted.if the clock had started early, then the time should have been added because they were counting down seconds while the game was not in play. this just goes to show how shitty the mac refs are...

I think the logic was that Miami got an extra .6 seconds, so we should too. In reality, they got an extra 1.5 seconds and the game should've been over. Couple all of this with what just happened tonight, and this is the biggest travesty in the history of Akron athletics. It's a dark day in the Zips Nation.

This definitely is one of the all-time darkest days in Zips athletics. I still can't believe this! How can the MAC's best team not be in either postseaon tourney? This is one of the greatest travesties in NCAA basketball history but yet I am sure most of the nation won't even notice!
