Guys, I've finally gotten to the point where I can post here again.I was there last night, and the shock, although still there, is becoming manageable. This was the most difficult loss I've endured as a fan. And growing up in NE Ohio that's saying something. This one hurt more than Byner's fumble in Denver. However, time to stop crying in one's beer....in my opinion.Let's stop blaming the timekeeper, the refs, the MAC and accept some responsibility. There were a million variables that led up to the unfortunate outcome. A lot of those variables fall on us too.Excuse me here, and it hurts to write this, but lets support Miami as our Conference representative. If you know a Miami fan...congratulate them.Let's hold up the reputation of our school. Let's hold up our reputation as Akron fans.I'm going out on a limb by posting this...but I feel that I've earned my bones as an Akron fan. I've sat through the rainy Saturday nights with 2,000 people in the Bowl playing Eastern Kentucky. I've had a football season ticket dating back to Faust's first year.Win with class...lose with class. And I feel that our school and all of us fans...have class. Thanks

I totally agree about supporting Miami and the conference. I would root for any MAC team in the tournament. I am willing to accept that Akron should accept the majority of blame in the loss; however, I still feel that the conference needs to look at officiating and timekeeping problems. The end of the game was a distster for both teams. Miami won the game and should have been able to celebrate and not wait for ten minutes. Akron finishes a game with huge questions about the timekeeping that are justified. These are problems that should not occur at the college level.

It's good to hear a fan more seasoned than I tell of how this is the hardest loss he's ever had to swallow. I've been a hard core Zips fan for 15 years now and I was pretty much devastated Saturday night. So at least I know I'm not taking this loss out of perspective. Thankfully, there are a million things more important in life than sports. This was a great season and man, we've now got some lifetime memories from that MAC tourney! We'll be telling our grandkids about that one.
