mcperp Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 So if I understand correctly, had the Zips gone 1-28 leading up to the tournament with losses to Tiffin 102-38, Oral Roberts 197-12, the Akron Barber College 87-49, and the loss to the 1904 Buchtel College Alumni team, 8-3, (the lone win being against a Rick Boyages led-Wright State team) but benefited enough from those 29 "tune up" games to win the MAC tournament in 4 straight... Then they'd take their 5-28 record out west against Oregon?Hmm, why bother playing any regular season games in the MAC, let's just move right into the tournament in November. Guess those 26 wins aren't even worthy of the NIT-wits. Quote
UA Fan Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 and the loss to the 1904 Buchtel College Alumni team, 8-3,not unlike our games with Miami... Quote
blueandgold Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 It sure makes the excitement of beating Can't 3 times in one season wasted. Quote

Our record is 8-17 and we got an NCAA bid (number 6 seed) as well as an NIT bid (number 3 seed) for our second team. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 Yep. The regular season is meaningless. I hate to say this, but Bobby Knight was right. Quote
