Brett McKnight named D1 POY

Recommended Posts

great addition for the Zips. he could be one of them players who step right in and make an impact for the loss of romeo. Its almost scary how much talent and more athletic we will be with the addition of sweich, steward, mcknight, and now this roberts kid. i dont think us losing romeo and dru will have as much of a negative affect on us as it would have if we werent able to see the program grow and have all of these very talented recruits sign with us.

Never mind, I just saw the Roberts post further down the page. Yeah, Roberts was 1st Team D-1 All-Ohio PG last year!!! I was excited about him last year but he didn't end up graduating from high school, or something ridiculous like that, so he was, needless to say, ineligible. He would be a TREMENDOUS addition!!!

=>I saw him play last Saturday in the Ohio-Kentucky Allstar game. Although he did not score many points, I thought he looked pretty good against very good competition. Has and nice back to the basketball fade away jumper. Very athletic with a big @ss. Fits the Akron mold of big @ssed players like Wood and Travis.

Thanks mollautt .. I assume you're referring to McKnight here. Any other conference recruits play in that game?
=>I was there to watch Nick Winbush who signed with Miami. Alex Kellogg (son of Clark) also played for the Ohio team (he has offers from Miami, Butler, Ohio, Akron, Oakland, Toledo, Providence, and George Washington).McKnight has a sense of humor. Before the opening tipoff, he lined up next to me (I was in the first row) and said, "Fear the Roo!" He turned around, saw me and my group's Miami gear on and smiled. He talked a little friendly smack back and forth about the MAC tourney and he promised he will not let Miami do it again. =>I attended the DI-II Ohio North/South Allstar game where Steward and McKnight played. McKnight played well, better actually than in the Ohio/Kentucky game. He his at least one trey.Steward was ever better. He was, IMHO, the best PG on the floor in the game. Very good ballhandler, hit multiple long range bombs, and can penetrate. You all will like him very much.
