timmyboy
VT Remembrance Day Support The Victims This Friday I would like to ask everyone, to show their support for all the victims, friends, and family involved in the tragedy at Virginia Tech. ITheir asking students across the United States to wear Chicago Maroon and Burnt Orange on Friday April 20, 2007. It would be pretty amazing to see a majority of the students on campuses across the country unite to show their support and let the people of Virginia Tech know that they are in our hearts and prayers. zipseuph
what about the millions of other people that die everyday of tragic events?don't get me wrong I think that the events that took place at VT were awful and I wish they would have never happened. but lets face it the only reason we really care about this over all the other terrible things that happen every day is because of the media attention it gets. I like what Mike Hixon said in the buchtelite today that if you when you pray for the VT victems tonight please make sure to pray for everyone else who dies at a young age or at a tragic event

There is a VTech tragedy everyday in Iraq and in other parts of the world. Still, wearing the Hokies colors fosters awareness of our violent world, and hopefully results in more kindness towards each other. Any great tragedy such as VT, 911, Pearl Harbor needs a form of ritual to help ease the utter madness of a massively tragic event.

It's a shame that the miracle that is the human mind can have so many good quirks and so many bad ones...

At the same time the VT thing was going on, I read a story about a bomb that went off killing 45 in Iraq. That shit happens every damn day and no one really seems to care any more. Those are sons and daughters as well. Not to mention the over 600,000 Iraqis that have been killed. I guess they aren't human. It's no big surprise you misread that column. You hate everything the buchtelite does.
