Dr Z
Congratulations to everybody that made this happen. :wave:Trustees voted Tuesday morning to hire Akron's Welty Building Company in partnership with the Hunt Construction Group of Indianapolis to lead the project. Hunt has a long history of managing new stadium construction to include Cleveland Browns Stadium, Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, and Ford Field in Detroit. The group has also managed stadium projects on the campuses of LSU and Louisville.
UAZipster0305
Why would the UA want to purchase part of the Quaker Square complex and the Crown Plaza Hotel? I believe Mr. Curtis help rediesign the Crown Plaza Hotel from silos, but these properties are on the opposite corner from the stadium and aren't directly continuous with the rest of campus because of the railroad tracks.I'd like the Nation to provide some insight here. flipthezip
Glad to see all of this finally moving along. I posted back on April 19 about the Quaker Square deal. I find it interesting that the hotel and banquet center has in the past few months changed management and is now being run by Rennick Andreoli and his staff who own the Akron West Hilton and Four Point Sheraton. Corporate sponsers of the zips.
