Blue & Gold
Here's an article on Dru and Rome from today's (6/27) Beacon.http://www.ohio.com/mld/ohio/sports/17393309.htm
skip-zip
I read it. No disrespect, but I still don't see Dru Joyce being good enough to even play pro ball in Europe. But I wish him the best. Romeo, on the other hand, should be able to make a living over there for awhile. I still think the most likely place to find Dru will be sitting on the Akron bench next to Dambrot within the next couple of years.
sgm405
No big surprise here...I think most of us realized - whether we wanted to admit it or not - that neither playher was a legitimate NBA prospect. Dru should get a shot overseas, - I think he's the better player of the two. I do see him eventually coaching either at UA or St. V. Romeo was a very good college basketball player, but never reached "star" status like we all hoped he would. He'll likely play for the Cavaliers summer league squad (thanks to Lebron) and get a shot to play overseas as well. And there's certainly nothing wrong with making six figures to play a sport.
