ROCK1 Posted July 7, 2007 Report Posted July 7, 2007 Toledo will begin a $30 million renovation of Savage Hall after the upcoming basketball season and the building will be ready for the 2008-09 season. This will be a total renovation of the building including more than 20 suites and loges, a hall of fame and pro shop. An indoor turf practice facility will be attached to the arena and will open in 2009. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted July 8, 2007 Report Posted July 8, 2007 That looks great! The MAC needs more facilities of this caliber. OU's got a great arena and EMU also has a great facility. The JAR sucks. Quote
GoZips88 Posted July 8, 2007 Report Posted July 8, 2007 Would agree - looks great. The all-blue seats sure look better than the multi-color ones in Savage right now. I hope they ditch the ugly tan/brown crap on the walls when they re-do everything.I was driving through Firestone Park the other day and noticed LOTS of signs in yards by companies who are repairing roof/siding damage from the recent hail storm. ANY chance an adjuster would look at the JAR, declare it a piece of crap, and sign over a check to have it completely redone?!? Quote

I will ask my uncle, who owns a roofing company who is insured for hail repair ha ha. it would be nice if akron came into a large donation to have the JAR renovated ( or a new one built). Id like to have the old track taken out on the sides and seats taken all the way up. I seen this in another arena ( cant remember which one) and it didnt look bad. I know it wouldnt add a ton more seats, but it would add a few more to create a louder enviorment for the other schools. Quote
