Dr Z Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 8. Do you read message boards or blogs where fans discuss your team?Yes: 39.5%No: 60.5%Notes: For the purposes of this survey, if a player answered "sometimes," it was counted as a "yes" response... Twenty-four players answered "yes" outright, while 23 answered "sometimes." ... Approximately 68 percent of BCS players responded "no," compared to approximately 51 percent of non-BCS players.Quotable: "I read it if I want to have a good laugh," said one Big 12 player. Most players who responded "no" said the people who write on message boards or blogs do not know what they're talking about. Players spend most of their day with the team, they know far more about who is doing good, bad, or just ok during practice. They talk to coaches every day. Of course they'll know more about it than the fans. What bugs me is that they don't bother to give information out to the people who obviously care so much about their team.Instead, they just blow the fans off, calling them uninformed. Quote

I have experienced the opposite with Zip players. Many Zip players are very open and excited to tell you about the team. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 I for one will not try to convince anyone that I am an expert on what goes on with the Zips. If we knew all the details about what was going on, then wouldn't the opposing team know just as much?? I think forums like this are an excellent way to keep fans somewhat informed and grow excitement about the team. Quote
