This is a game Akron should win and win handly, but one thing concerns me and that is special teams. Army is strong in all facets of special teams from returns to their punter....I am not that knowledgable when it comes to Akron special teams so maybe someone can help me out....How is Akron with return specialts, kickers and punters? Thanks,

I agree that Special Teams could be shaky, but why hasn't anyone asked the obvious questions of why coach hasn't given significant chances to newcomers like Hildreth and Campbell. All through camp Brookhart has indicated, whether by word or deed, that he's going with what he's gone with before. He stated that Hildreth had to "flat out beat" Stec to win the job. Well, if he's better, he's better. Why does he have to be 10% or 20% better? And if he's not, then Stec should get the job. But it sounds like the main reason Stec gets the job is because he had it last year.Again, the only kickers being given the chance at the job are Domonkos (who is terrible, not according to me but Captain Kangaroo and others) and Igor. Neither, according to reports from Rasor and others, has proven themselves. So why hasn't Campbell been working with the 1st or 2nd teams? Rasor has reported multiple times that "Igor and Domonkos missed kicks, Campbell didn't kick" (Paraphrase). Why not?

Before the past 2 years, I don't remember UA ever having kicking problems. We have always had good if not great kickers.2 years in a row is startling.
Absolutely. A D-1 football program should NOT have kicking problems. D-1 level competition is an inter-galactic quantum leap from high school talent/competition. But I saw a couple high school kickers last year I would have taken over our guys. That is completely unacceptable.

zip8....I am in total agreement with you. Having the job last year is no reason they should keep it this year, especially with the year they had last year! I am worried that JD is the "special teams" coach. He has too much to worry about. I am willing to bet that he might be the only head coach in D1 to do this.I say that everyone should get their chances, and let the best man play. How good is Campbell? How good is Hildreth? According to Rasor, Hildreth has a better punt, but Stec gets it off faster. If Stec screws up, will Hildreth be given a chance?I am concerned because I have always believed that special teams should be given as much attention as offense and defense. Ask Jim Tressel how important special teams are to him. OSU even has special team scrimmages, and they are intense.
