Only the top 12 mascots in the nation have been picked to represent this team. Zippy is up against some very tough and well known mascots. They include:Big Red from Western Kentucky Cav Man from University Of VirginiaCocky from the University of South CarolinaCosmo from Brigham Young UniversityGoldy from University of Minnesota Hairy Dawg University of Georgia Joe Bruin UCLAOtto Syracuse universitySeymour Southern MissAs you can see these are all big and bad schools whose programs very devolved. This gives us a great chance to show the world we are just as good if not better than these big dogs. This is an opportunity to come together as a University/ Community/ MAC Conference. The key to make this work is you the great people of Akron and around the world.Starting September 10 at 9:00 AM you can vote for Zippy Daily at www.capitalonebowl.comZippy will be up against one other mascot for the first 9 weeks of the football season. This is a voting contest and you can only win your week by beating your opponents in votes each week. Then at that time the records will be examined and if we are in the top six by the win / loss record we will make the mascot playoffs. During the first nine weeks we are going to need about 50,000 - 70,000 each week to get a win. Then we are going to need around 80,000 votes for the play off weeks. So buckle your seat belts and great ready for this fun ride.
