I thought this would go a little better.

I did a search under the word "predict" under 'My Assistant' and come up with some.

Mastodon did a pretty good job (not bad for a Marshall fan)

Hey Zippers! I’m the fan of another MAC school and I just thought I would bring a little disparity to the board. While waiting for football season, I predicted each MAC team’s season (all subject to change). Here’s how I see Akron performing for the 2004 season:

PENN ST* 26-34 L

MIDDLE TENN ST 38-24 W

VIRGINIA* 24-45 L

Can't ST* 51-31 W

NORTHERN ILL* 31-37 L

BUFFALO 56-21 W

UCF* 41-31 W

BALL ST 42-21 W

MARSHALL 34-38 L

OHIO* 49-27 W

MIAMI (OHIO) 31-41 L (6-5; 5-3)

This is not meant to be inflammatory; I just want to get some discussion going. I know it’s early but tell me your predictions or thoughts (about Akron or anyone else).

Well, I looked through the previous posts a bit, looks like I was pretty conservative in seeing what would happen. I think our record is about where I expected it. Can't remember if I made a full season prediction but I do remember thinking we would beat MTSU and considered a win against BSU, Marshall, or Miami an upset. Well BSU was much worse than I expected and we got out of the gate much slower than I thought. So record wise I think we are close to where I thought we would be.

As far as team performance, I guess I got swept up in the hype of early season talk. We got smashed early on. :chair: Though it looks like we've turned the ship around, honestly, I am not comfortable with where we stand. Though we've ripped off a string of wins, the competition makes up almost 1/2 of the ESPN Bottom Ten. After getting demolished early in the season, and then winning a bunch of pillow fights, I don't know what to expect for the Marshall Game  .

I am really hoping that we have turned a corner, and will give Marshall all they can handle....but I was way off early season. I have seen nothing in the past month to make me believe that the Zips won't relapse when we run up against a Marshall team that is on par with an NIU team that burried us. So, as always, I will be optimistic and hope that those pillow fights were what we needed to learn to how to fight. Only time will tell.
