Ryno aka Menace Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 Bowling Green 1-0 overall 2-1 Akron 1-0 overall 2-2 Buffalo 1-0 overall 1-3 Miami (OH) 1-0 overall 1-3 Ohio 0-0 overall 2-2 Can't State 0-1 overall 2-2 Temple 0-2 overall 0-4 Bowling Green - Still don't know how good they are. Their win against Minny looks good on paper but they are a botom Big10 team. I feel we should have beat an Indy team that is better than Minny. Their other win is against Temple.Buffalo - should be a win, their only win is to Temple. They have been blown out in every game they have played.Miami - They barely lose to Minny and beat a Ball State team that i think is pretty good, but they get blown out by Colorado and Cincy. I am going to say we beat them even though it is at their place.Ohio - Their wins are nothing to brag about and lost to Wyoming by 1 at home. Can't State - Coked that ChickenTemple - Nothing needs to be said but..."W"So out of the 6 teams in the east the worst I see us being is 4 and 2, and that is if we fall on our face and lose to 2 out of 3 against BGSU, Miami, and OU. I think Can't is the second best team in the east. Quote
GP1 Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 Interesting post. Too early to tell. I predicted seven wins and I stand by that. Too many games for everyone to play to make a decision on the MAC East. 4-2 may not be good enough. 5-1 is an almost guarantee. As long as we either beat OU or BGSU, then we should be OK. Quote
skip-zip Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 Lets worry about how we'll fill John Mackey's shoes, and get a BIG road win next week. I don't want to look beyond that.If we can win this game next week, and pull an upset against Miami on the road, we can get to 7 wins. But, we'd still need to beat the defending MAC East and MAC West champs at home (Ohio and Central). And that will be no small task. Quote
74ZIP Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 easy boys and girls...unlike can't not everbody is going to be as charitable the rest of the season...figure it this way....ZIPS HAVE to win ALL remaining home games...temple,OU and Central...have to beat buffalo on the road AND the big one...steal a game from either BG or Miami on the road...its gonna take at least 5 division wins...and maybe like '05 a tiebreaker Quote
Zipsrifle Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 We're pretty beat up right now.....could get ugly if things keep going this way. Focus on next week is what we should be doing and trying to win EVERY game. Quote

skip-zip Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Those road games against Miami and Bowling Green are the ONLY losses we can have the rest of the way if we want to be bowl-eligible. We have to win every other game, including the road game at Buffalo, and the Home game against a very good Central Michigan team.We definitely have our work cut out for us. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Buffalo is somehow 2-0 in the east. Every game we have remaining is critical. We need to win all our home games, and take two of three on the road. Easier said than done. Quote

We need to win all our home games, and take two of three on the road. Easier said than done.BuffaloBulls have nice wins over OU and Temple, but they will soon come back to earth.. still have to face Akron then go to Miami, home for BG and @ Can't to finish the season..MiamiRedHawks are set up nicely with BG, Akron and Buffalo all at home....road games @ Temple and @ Ohio.... Somebody needs to help us out and hand Miami an extra "L" or two. Depending on which Redhawks team shows up the rest of the way, the best chances are BG, Ohio and Akron.Bowling GreenFalcons still have @ Miami, @ Can't, Ohio, Akron and @ Buffalo. -- not sure I see two losses in there anywhere.. although any MAC road game is possible ( @ Miami, @ Can't) and, of course, Akron are all possibles. Can't Stateflushes can still play spoilers. Have BG at home , @ Temple and Buffalo -- Could the flushes help us out by beating BG? and Buffalo??Ohio has @ BG, Temple and @ Akron -- Maybe Bobcats can surprise BG??Temple Owls got a nice win over NIU. Have @ Akron, Miami, @ Ohio and Can't -- Maybe upset Miami at home? The Bulls owe Miami for some of the thumpings in previous years.Bottom line is the Zips and the winner of the BG-Miami game control their own destinies. Any other scenarios will require help....
