You guys wanted coverage in the BJ? Well, you got it.Zips left far behind in the second half.I found this on the front page of the sports section, along with a very big picture. OSU wasn't mentioned until the inside pages. Can't got a side column on the front page, as did the Indians. We lost, but still got the featured story. I suggest you guys leave some comments on their website to encourage them to keep covering the LOCAL team like this. It's what we need, win or lose. It shows that the Zips are Akron's team, not the Buckeyes. They may have been driven to do this out of fear after seeing the backlash against WEWS after the Wagon Wheel TV fiasco, but I like to think that they are finally figuring out what we have been telling them for so long.Not a single mention in the Cleveland PD or the Canton Suppository.

I agree completely and will pass along my thanks to the Beacon. I was very surprised to see Akron and Can't on the cover, with the Zips coverage more prominent. It was a small consolation for the tough second half yesterday, but at least the Beacon seems to be listening (perhaps?).

I was SHOCKED. The Suckeyes game story was actually the one in the back of the sports section today.We can only hope that this is the beginning of a philosophical change in their coverage for their hometown team.Lets continue to lobby for better coverage for our Zips.

Outstanding job BJ for putting our hometown team first. Will this trend continue when we win next week or is it front page news because of a loss? Who cares for now-they are acknowledge that we exist and that is at least a step in the right direction.GO ZIPS!!!

Don't get so excited about the ABJ's coverage. Remember that OSU played and finished late so they needed to lay out the front page well before the game was over. The space OSU got was directly tied to deadlines and not the ABJ coming around to the home team.

Amen! That is entirely correct. Don't expect a big philosophical change on the part of the BJ that they're going to cover the Zips better. This week was an exception to the rule.

It's embarrassing as a fan that we (Zip's fans) have to get excited about a home town paper placing the home town team on the cover of the sports page. I can't bring myself to type on this subject.
