Go play in Conference USA with the rest of the misfits. You losers can't win this league any more because you can't pay players to go to school at that dump of a city, you can't get the league to fix games like they did against Miami a couple of years ago and you can't hold a lead against a team with nickname like Zips. Good luck going 6-5 for the rest of your lives in CUSA loooooooooooosers. See everyone in Detroit, I hope. Yours truely, GP1 PS.

Guest HERDON
We are glad to be leaving this dead in the water conference. One question for you to ponder. Where would that MAC be if Marshall would never of joined. NOWHERE! We are the reason why you got on TV and the same goes for all the other schools in the MAC as well. Good game last night. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the your fans.
GP1
A dead in the water team leaving a dead in the water conference for another dead in the water conference. Don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you. By the way, I don't think Marshall would be where it is today if the MAC didn't give up the farm to get it in the league. It was certainly a two way street. One last question. Was your coach a frozen caveman one of your anthropology professors found frozen in Iceland and you guys made him coach? He sure looks like one. Guest HerdU
It's a sad farewell for everyone when we leave the conference...going to C-USA - TV money goes bye bye...conference championship goes bye bye... Bowl games go bye bye Akron can also say goodbye to Division I-A May you enjoy years of sub 10,000 attendance and audits by the NCAA when you report 16,002 people dressed up as empty bleachers. Enjoy this gift game and laugh it up - while our MACC chances are shakey now - at least our program, will have the final laugh. (Enters big fat Nordic lady) < -- I think she's clearing her throat GO HERD!
Guest One who knows
Sorry but my insider says for every game this fall Akron has had not only counters at the entries but also their own auditors to keep the numbers accurate. You will notice they've reported abysmal attendance numbers for some games, and, of course, a nice number for the Marshall game - and all are above board. Depending on the attendance at the Miami game Akron may not make the attendance requirement for this year - especially if we lose to Ohio U. But they are being honest - maybe to a fault - as are other MAC schools like (obviously) Miami U.
Dodo
News flush, Herd fans: Akron just make 15,000, and if they're playing for the MAC East against us, I'd expect another good crowd. I expect a pretty good Miami contingent there, as well. I fully expect the Akron v. Miami rivalry to heat up in the East in the future with Marshall gone. zipsbandman
Enjoy this gift game and laugh it up - while our MACC chances are shakey now - at least our program, will have the final laugh. It sounds like you are still upset by your apparent upset on Friday. All I can say is we know how it feels. Dodo could probably tell you that. (Big Ben and the Hail Mary) The win on Friday was just the beginning of something good for the MAC. Don't worry Marshall, there is a replacement for you lying in northeastern Ohio. Just wait until we bring legit DI-A tlent to this school. By the way, there were plenty of recruits there to witness one heck of a game. Between facilities. the excitement being generated this year, and Frye's ascent into the NFL ranks, I'm convinced Akron will start getting real talented real fast. We already know we have a coaching staff that is showing they know how to win. Once we get the city of Akron behind us and our new stadium on campus, that attendance issue won't even phase us. Thank you Marshall. You just woke the sleeping giant. It's too bad you won't get your "revenge" next year. IF..and I mean IF we can pull it off in Athens, we will draw huge against Miami and will shatter 15k. The game would likely decide the MAC east for both schools, and the Miami fans will show up in large numbers too. We'll see what happens. Lots of teams are stepping up, and the MAC will be in good hands.
Zipsrifle
But they are being honest - maybe to a fault - as are other MAC schools like (obviously) Miami U. That is the only way to go. We need to build a reputation that we are an honest program. First thing we need to do is to beat Ohio. I'm sure JD will have the guys focused for that. In addition, did anyone notice that the Miami game is on OSU-Michigan Saturday? Can't underestimate that factor. My sister, who had a great time at the game on Friday, has already said she won't be at the Miami game so that she can simply be IN COLUMBUS during the OSU-Mich game.....MAC East on the line or not! Part of me hopes the game stays on Saturday so Mrs. Rifle can attend, but part of me thinks attendece will be abysmal due to the OSU-Michigan game and hopes the rumors of the game being moved to Friday will be true. I expect to see another "Fill the Bowl" program. Lets hope for nice weather! F-OSU!!!

Even down as far Oxford, we can expect the worst attendance when OSU and Michigan are playing.
zipboy
I look for the game to be moved if it is on ESPN or not. They will at least make it a Saturday night game if not Friday not.
