BirdZip
I decided to check out North Carolina Central. After about 30 seconds, I decided it wasn't worth it. They're 1-10. Over their last 5 games, all losses, which included games against powerhouses such as Towson & Western Carolina, the LEAST they lost by was 20 points. We're their 6th straight away game. In fact, they play 22 away games this year. Life as an independent must really stink. Life as a first year Div 1 must really stink. Life after Saturday will really stink. Will the Zips flirt with 100 again? I'll go for 86-54.

Wally B
This is not one of those teams from Raleigh that would help our RPI......
RACER
you mean we played sc upstate.66-63.that was a real blowout.

I hope coach leaves his foot on the accelerator.Zips 88NC Central
ziptrumpet87
I'd like to see CMcKnight and Bardo score more than one or two from the floor tonight and Ced get some rest for his knees, even if it means playing Salee for substantial minutes. ZachTheZip
This is a game to rest your injured and see what your bench players can give you. Put Bardo out there, put McKnight out there, feed the ball to Linhart to see if he can find his confidence.
Valpo Zip
If you ask me, i would rather see the zips win by 5 points but see Mcknight, Bardo, Conyers play major minutes and show that they can play a substatntial role in a D1 basketball team. skip-zip
I don't see KD doing too much differently. They have 7 days off after this game to rest. I'm sure he wants to give them a decent workout.
maggiemoo
What is up with the stats not working AGAIN???Did the student (that took care of updating the stats) graduate or something?
ZachTheZip
Akron is up 18-9 right now. I wish I could be there.
ZachTheZip
McKnight is having a coming out game. he already has matched his career high in the first 10 minutes.
ZachTheZip
Zips up 45-16. Bardo and McKnight are finally going to get a chance to see what they can do. Goddard is already in.
ZachTheZip
51-20 with 4 minutes left. Any score less than 110-50 will be a dissapointment.
ZachTheZip
Akron pasting NC Central 61-23 at the half. I knew NC Central was bad, but they're playing like a HS team.
ZachTheZip
Up 72-28. Both Bardo and McKnight with career highs (although that's not too hard to achieve). We're finally seeing bench players contribute big.
ZachTheZip
87-43 Akron. 3:50 to go. Bardo having his best game ever.
ZachTheZip
96-49 Final. Bardo and McKnight have proven that they can play solidly for extended minutes. The only player on the entire team not to score was Salee.

We'll see.Other MAC wins today:Ohio beat Delaware (attendance 3,538)K-e-n-t beat George Mason (attendance 4,378)Toledo beat Drexel (attendance unknown)CMU beat Cal. ZachTheZip
I'm not sure on attendance. The Rowdies were loud enough to be heard over the radio a few times, although they didn't do much in the way of chants defensively. It shouldn't matter what the score is, you guys need to be loud and obnoxious every time the other team so much as looks at the ball. bUAkronG
yeah I was at the game. I hadn't been at one prior so I don't have anything to gauge the crowd tonight upon, though I thought it seemed a bit empty. Certainly nothing like last year.I know NCCU wasn't a top quality team but our boys really played well tonight. Good defense, forcing close to 30 turnovers(okay well we probably only forced about 6 of them; they did the rest themselve). Free throws were still questionable(anyone got an official percentage? I know it was in the upper 60s most of the game)Great showing by the bench tonight. Bardo played monstrous inside(even hit about a 15 footer--what a weird jump shot he's got lol), as did McKnight. Our young players did well, too.And I just have to say this-- boy does McNees look much younger than he is! During halftime warmups he really looked like a high schooler out there in his big warm up shirt. On a lighter note, he seemed pretty comfortable with the ball in his hands running the offense. All in all obviously a great game for us. Good to see the bench perform so well.P.S.- Does Milum dunk at least once in every game?? I swear I don't recall any games where he hasn't, even last year lol
