ZachTheZip
Just saw this message appear on the University's Zipline student website:See Keyla Snowden continue her impressive run toward the UA women's record for most three-point shots in a season when the Zips women's basketball team faces Central Michigan at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 in Rhodes Arena. Admission is free for students with their Zip Card. This is the first time I can remember them ever mentioning any sports at all on Zipline other than their generic calender which includes all events. Is this the start of some marketing program aimed at the students? If not, it should be. We always talk about building the fanbase, and many times it involved getting national attention or even mentions in neighboring cities. But the most important peices to the fan support puzzle are the students and the alumni. We can't possibly hope to build a strong athletics program without the support of those two groups. The best thing to happen to fan support might just be a concentrated marketing effort directed towards the students instead of the surrounding communitty.Either way, good luck Keyla. Let's hope that no only do you break the record for most 3-point shots taken, but also eventually the record for most three-point shots made. Jamison32
I know I'm gonna be at the game tomorrow. Gotta support all of our Zips teams. But I saw that they advertised the OU game on Zipline also. But it definitely helps bring more students to the games. Good luck Keyla!
