GoZips
Western MI gets a minor snub as the four and five seeds of the MAC tourney get CBI bids. Ohio plays Brown at home. Miami travels to Tulsa. CBI Bracket
MDZip
OK, tell the truth. As much as we all wanted to tell the NIT to pound sand from the snub last year, don't you feel a little better about landing an NIT bid as opposed to the CBI this year? (Though the CBI may well have helped us)

Miami travels to Tulsa. CBI BracketI wouldnt say Western was a "snub". Yeah they were the 2 seed, but they did play in the west, and ended up almost 40 spots lower than Ohio (50 more than Miami) in RPI. Not that RPI is the end all be all, but I just didnt see Western with a strong profile.

skip-zip
The CBI got it right. Miami and Ohio were in much better positions for a post season berth than Western. Western was only the #2 seed in the MAC tournament because they were the champ of the West Division.
ziptrumpet87
NIT IMO. Most of the local schools of interest are there (us, CSU, OSU), people have heard of the NIT, plus I've heard it's $60k to host a CBI game. We'll get more media attention from it than the CBI (the other-other tournament).
GoZips88
Who picks up the tab for the last-minute travel expenses to Tallahassee and beyond? I'm assuming MasterCard and other NIT sponsors have all of that stuff covered. If I remember right, it costs the University a good chunk of whatever they receive when they participate in a football bowl game. Just wondering.
