Big Zip
Just got my invitation in the mail yesteray for Alumni Day 2008. For those grads and undergrads unaware of the program it honors Alumni who have gone onto successful endeavors both public, private and philanthropic. Jim Tressel class of '77 will be honored this year. For all the OSU hatred on this board (which I'm happy to take the blame for some) I am interested in hearing what Tressel says about his experience at the University and learning from Coach Denison. Love OSU or hate them Tressel is one of us with his degree from UA.It is always an excellent event and a great opportunity to meet other UA Alumni, network and generally have an evening of pride in your University. It never ceases to amaze me the caliber of people who have spent time on our campus. Other recipients this year include -- Glynis Wheeler Redwine (’77), vice president, human resources and general counsel, Alcon Laboratories Inc.; Ohio Sen. Tom Sawyer (’68 ’70); and Dr. Gary Williams (’68), surgeon, Gary B. Williams M.D. Inc.To top it all off the University will be bestowing an honorary degree on the University's change agent Dr. Proenza and his wife Theresa.Who will be in attendance this year? Whomever made the decision to have him come back is an idiot!! I ripped up my invite the minute I saw his picture. But I'm sure all you luckeye idiots will pony up the $60 to hear/see him. Finally, calling him one of 'us' is debatable. If you mean he's one of the tens of thousands of alumni who doesn't give a damn about his alma mater and who never give back, then I agree, he can be considered one of 'us'.If you think he really gives a damn about UA, you are a fool. ........Now, if the vest was available to hang around and give me the intimate details on how his lucks got run off the field the last two bowl games, I might reconsider if I got a free ticket. Like most UA alums, they really like free tickets.

Like most UA alums, they really like free tickets.I find it interesting how someone can claim that so and so doesn't give a damn about such and such. Unless you have access to the University accounts and records and you actually can tell us who donates what and who doesn't, you are not entitled to foolishly categorize people. And then isn't it ironic how you talk about supporting the university and its events but then in the same post you indicate how hard it is for you to pay a $60 to attend one of those events.
