I received a call from a friend in Delaware who is a big University of Delaware Blue Hen fan. He said that Sean Hakes had visited campus this weekend and gave a verbal to UD. for the fall. Sean will be competing against Rob S (can remember the last name) the EX-OSU QB for the starting job. Best of luck to Sean as he competes and tries to lead UD back to the National Championship game.

i am guessing they are referring to j.d. relinquishing the offensive coordinator duties and going to the spread offense. best of luck to sean but if you can't beat out the cj's and you can't pull another d-I scholarship then it was best the two parted ways when they did :screwks:

Wasn't 2007 Moorhead's first year as Offensive Coordinator/QB coach? (IMHO, it should have also been his last year in this position.)

Hakes, who guided Nolan Catholic High to a 22-4 record and Texas state titles in 2004 and 2005, chose Akron over Bowling Green, Colorado State and Mississippi because he felt the Zips' pro-style passing offense suited him.But when offensive coordinator Jim Pry left after Hakes' first season for Illinois, Akron switched to a West Virginia-style spread option. Hakes wasn't comfortable with the new system and left.http://www.delawareonline.com/apps/pbcs.dl...300357/0/NEWS01
