RACER Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 i just wondered who everyone thought the starting qb would be this year.another factor is we have no set wrs that are proven.hopefully whoever the qb is will have time this year.i think the running gmae should be improved but still the qb situation is scary right now.opening at wisky is not the ideal time for a offsense that's coming off a bad year. ZachTheZip Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 I am thinking (hoping) that Matt Rodgers will have worked his way to the top of the depth chart before we paly Wisconsin. One thing is certain: It won't matter who the starting QB is if the offensive playbook hasn't undergone a complete overhaul. Dr Z Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 By my math;Jacquemain has a 77.1 percent chance of starting at WisconsinRodgers has a 21.3 percent chance of starting at WisconsinOther has a 1.6 percent chance of starting at WisconsinThis calculation is for July 18, 2008 only. Quote

Miller has the potential to be something special. Quote
Quickzips Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 I don't know who starts at QB for us, but chances are that by mid season we will all be calling for his head regardless of who he is. Particularly if we run the same kind of offense we did last year. Quote

RACER Posted July 20, 2008 Author Report Posted July 20, 2008 i would hope the coaching staff sees enough in johnson, kennedy, and allen to move williams to defense.the running game needs to improve to keep whoever the qb is out of trouble.i just dont think the spread is a offense where you can have a consistent running game. That is just as important as our QB play.I think a lot of us forget that the offense last year was primarily designed with Carlton Jackson in mind. I think the coaching staff had pretty much assumed he would be the starter and decided on a West Virginia style offense. Unfortunately they were mistaken. Hopefully the have adjusted the offense to take advantage of the 3 - 4 quality running backs we have, and that Jacquemain is better play action passer then he is a scrambling qb. Quote
