so what do you guys think about the indians trade with C.C? I'm surprised we didn't wait for better offers (with him now playing his best ball of the season) and with us not getting a guy from their pro line up

We'll never know what other offers they got for Sebathia, because they just don't divulge that kind of information. An ace starting pitcher not only should garner a major league player in a trade, but probably 2 of them if they are position players because good pitching is so hard to get. The problem with this situation is that the other team only gets Sebathia for the rest of the season... unless they resign him, and I don't think that Milwaukee is at the top of the money-to-burn list (LA&NY*cough*), so you just aren't going to get teams that are going to throw away loads of big league talent for someone even of his caliber for half a season.

LaPorta is supposed to be a grade-a certified stud. Half a major-league season in AA and he's on pace for 40HRs and 132 RBI.Bryson (20 years old, mind you) has struck out 73 batters in 55 Innnings while only walking 20.The likely player to be named later is Taylor Green. He was Milwaukee's minor league player of the year last year. He's hitting .295 with 10 homers as a 21 year old in High-A ball this year.I would have liked to have seen 2 uber-prospects in the deal, but Milwaukee knew they were only gonna get 3 months out of the second fattest Cy-Young winner in history (I'm pretty sure Bartolo Colon is the winner in that contest). It would have been impossible to get more than what the Tribe did, unless there was some sort of agreement pre-trade (like Santana's deal with the mets in the offseason).I'm gonna miss CC, but it's the nature of the Cleveland Indians. Namely, our owner is a tightwad and will continue to fill his wallet and refill the ballclub on cheap prospects.
