According to scout.com 2011 PG Recruit Stevie Taylor is going to be on campus tomorow. Wonder if we'll spot him at the Info for the big football game. Stevie is an undersized (5'6") but apparently very talented PG out of Gahanna Lincoln High School (same school as 2009 MAC Tournament MVP Nate Linhart). I know we're pretty well set at PG right now, but he's on a lot of MAC team's radars. I'd kind of like to keep their hands off of him.

I'm sorry, but I don't care how talented he is. A 5'6 PG is going to have a tough time transitioning to a level where all the players are half a foot taller than him.

Drew Lavender would beg to disagree.

Listen, I know it is unusual to see guys that small in D1, but everyone I keep hearing from says Taylor has the talent to do it. On top of that, you have to remember this is a 16 or 17 year old kid. Theres a good chance he could be a few inches taller by the time he graduates in two years. He already has offers from quite a few D1 programs, including us, so apparently quite a few people think he has what it takes to play at this level.

The only place you regularly see guys that short in college ball is playing defensive back for the Zip footballers.

As the school that got laughed at for taking Dru Joyce on, you would think their fans would be open to small PGs. That Joyce kid turned out ok last time I checked.

I don't know anything about this kid, but to discount him on height alone is foolish. Drew Lavender as somebody else point out, is a great example as well.

We have somebody on the team right now as a good example. Humpty is 5'9" and I'd take him on my team any day. That Muggsy Bogues was pretty good too at 5'3". Ever see a picture of him next to Manute Bol when they both played for the Washington Wizards? Over two feet of height difference (and Muggsy was by far the better player - though Bol was a better rebounder. smile.gif).
