  1. If the University had any say in this, I have 2 words for you: "Thank You!"

  2. At least they are all off the bandwagon for now because the basketball team has fallen way out of the rankings. Living free from the Honks for 6 months is a good thing !

  3. 19 or 20 wins, if neither meant a bid to a tournament, what is the difference? I see zero benefit for the team. I get that it's fun for a few fans to try to justify some of their arguments, but that's about it. Postseason experience for this young(er) team would be very beneficial. It's just too bad it would be without Noah. With the way this team shoots, I hold little hope for post season success. I would love to be proven wrong. I saw a banner for the MAC tourney during an outside shot last night during the Cavs game. That got my blood pumping. If no type of tournament were involved, one could argue that 19 wins may actually be better than 20 for the future success of this team and staff. It might place a sense of urgency around the program, as opposed to complacency that it seems to be mired in. Doubt it, but it's possible.

  4. I've also thought about this over the last week or so. There could be a real benefit to playing on Mon. and Wed. in the MAC Tourney. 1) More chances to get to 20+ wins. 2) More postseason experience for the youngsters. I hate to be talking about a nearly impossible road to a Saturday title game, but those are the cards we've been dealt.

  5. Remember the football game where they gave away free tuition to a student? That was a great promotion that was hampered by terrible weather and a football team on a losing streak. Even with those factors, students outnumbered the rest of the fans. Now here's an idea for next season: spread it out over the entire basketball season. Every game gets you an entry. You have to swipe out of the game when you leave (no leaving at half time) for it to count. One semester of tuition costs less than most of the promotions they've been running.

  6. Baloney! You should not be catered to. Now I realize that 98% of the UA faculty supports OSU, 98% of the UA staff supports OSU, 98% of the UA student body supports OSU, 98% of the UA alumni base supports OSU and about 99% of the Akron community supports OSU. But it shouldn't matter. Take some pride in what you are doing and stop treating your school only as a place to get a degee and start treating it as the University of Akron. Hell, I would increase that $800 fee to athletics to $2,400. Once you swipe in and out and attend all home football and basketball games, you can earn the $1,600 back. ZI....
