  2. So I guess we're not as good as a professional team.

  3. That's an excuse. Saving face on a dumb decision.

  4. I was listening to Joe Dunn's talk show prior the day of the Can't game and he had French on to talk about Akron's win. French and Dunn both agreed this team is closer than any team they had seen before and they thought that was why they were able to deal with so much diversity. I also thought French was funny when he said "I know people think we're homers on the radio but if you really want to hear a homer flip over to the Can't broadcast tonight and listen to them."

  5. At least Iowa State an Baylor were nice enough to lose early to remove the suspense of my bracket being possibly successful.

  6. I went back and looked at the 2013 Ashland Eagles season. It has been mentioned that Tra'Von was not impressive there and I wanted to look closer. Ashland started out 1-3 when they made the change and inserted Chapman into the starting lineup. From there they finished out 4-2 to even their record at 5-5. Hard to compare numbers because of the small sample size and because Ashland ran the legs off Anthony Taylor who averaged 28 carries a game. (By contrast Jawon Chisholm averaged a little over 10 carries a game in the 11 games he played in 2014) Chapman finished 2013 going 90 for 173; 1154 yards; 9 TDs; 3 INTs. The most attempts taken as the starter was 31. The least? 13. Compare that with Pohl last year: Fewest attempts: 29 @ Pitt & Buffalo. Most? 62 vs. BG. Chapman surely did not set the world on fire at Ashland in 2013 that's for sure but I am not sure how much the Eagles offense would set up any QB to put up gaudy numbers. Tra'Von also did not have the benefit of a lot experience with the Ashland scheme since he didn't start practicing with the team until September 11. Not sure my inquiry turned up any information to give us much more of a clue as to what we are getting with Mr. Chapman. 7. At the end it asks for any additional suggestions. How about a post game call in radio show hosted by Johnnyzip84, Dr. Z and ZipsWin with GP1 giving his two cents once in a while?

  8. Really? How can you make a comparison like that? One team has 3 guys that can start at any BCS school in the country and won the title going away with their 3rd string guy. The other team is banking on a guy that didnt even put up decent stats at D2 Ashland. If Chapman doesn't pan out, Bowden once again looks like he was unable to recruit. He has done nothing in now his 4th year to improve the quarterback situation. It is a complete mess. Who is lined up if Chapman fails??

  9. I don't agree that Pohl is the starter until Woodson beats him out. I think the competition for starting QB is wide open next year, and if Pohl is the starter next year...look-out for another lack-luster year on offense where we struggle to reach 6-6. If Pohl is our BEST option at QB next season, that doesn't bode well for this team next year...or into the future. I personally would like to see Kincade, or Chapman step up to the position. Kincade redshirted this season Lance99, same with Chapman...this was his year out due to being a transfer, and the redshirt year has been burnt as a result of that. Kincade has 4-years left, Chapman has 3, if I'm not mistaken. Hirschman does graduate this year so he's not a consideration at all.
