  1. You came here at the absolute worst point in the 124-year history of the football program, and you leave us with the best season in Zips history. It's hard to believe and if I didn't watch it happen in person, I doubt I would ever understand the full impact of your careers at Akron. So, thank you. Thanks for believing in your team and yourselves when nobody else did, thanks for taking a huge risk in coming here, and thanks for sticking it through to the end.

  3. Thank you. It was so much fun hosting 3 NCAA soccer matches and going to KC, then going to Las Vegas to see Mens Basketball on the 21st and 23rd and watching the Potato Bowl in one of the lounges with numerous Zips fans. That was topped off by flying home on the same United red eye flight as the Basketball team. Very nice of the United flight attendants when we arrived to welcome us to Cleveland and then say We would like to congratulate the Akron Zips Men's Basketball team on their 2 wins in Las Vegas ... which was followed by passengers' applause. It's been a great Fall.

  4. I really do hope my prediction about Bowden is correct, about Bowden retiring as head coach of the Zips. What a story would that be!? Former graduate coach from a famous lineage, who became (in some level) disgraced on the national stage after being very successful, comes back to the program at the lowest of the low, brings it back from the brink, loses a friend in the process, and on top of all that, finds a new wife. I think Akron is going to be a very special place for Coach Bowden even if he does leave eventually in the future. I for one, hope he stays around, as the official ZNO Bowden cheerleader.

  5. Aggie fan here. I just wanted to come over and congratulate you guys on a great win. Your team looked stout, and you should be proud of the way your boys played. I was at the game, and could tell right from the get go that your team was fired up, and excited to be playing in a bowl game. Your team reminds me of the Aggie team that played in the Idaho potato bowl back in 2012. We won that game, and that was the beginning of an upward projection for our program after literally decades of horrible football. I really hope that the same will happen for your team there at Akron. This may seem funny to say, but losing to a team that has worked so hard for a bowl win and come so far, took some of the sting off of our loss. Once again, congratulations on your first bowl win!!
