  1. Oh my goodness. With all the Akron U references in that article, some of our fellow posters might need this number.

  2. Nice find on that article. I am old enough to have attended most if not all those games in the late '60's until I moved out of the area in the '80's. Couple of takes from the article. Akron was even back then trying to save its football program because of lack of attendance and poor performance on the field. And,the Acme/Zip games was obviously an 'event'. It wasn't just a football game. But,the football program and University got badly needed exposure. Hard to believe the minds in the AD couldn't come up with something like this now.

  3. Have you thought about submitting an official records request through the university?

  4. DeAndre Yedlin helps Sunderland dodge relegation from Premier League ...“DeAndre … has got very little experience at this level,” Allardyce told the Independent. “He has got a lot of qualities but without that experience, it’s a massive ask to perform at the consistent level that you need to at this stage of the season, under the pressure that we’re all under.” Yedlin is expected to feature prominently for the USMNT in next month's Copa America Centenario, having been named to Jurgen Klinsmann's 40-man preliminary roster. The Yanks' final list will be announced later this month.

  5. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/match-centre/sunderland-vs-everton-live-score-7514157 Mannone 6 - Rarely troubled by toothless Everton until it was 3-0. Yedlin 7 - Pacey right-back was quietly effective. Kaboul 7 - Solid in defence, one remarkable mazy run and shot Kone MOM 8 - Surprise two-goal hero and commanding at the back. Van Aanholt 7 - Bent home the all-important opener, enterprising down the left. Kirchoff 8 - Outstanding in anchor role, especially when it was tense and goalless. M’Vila 7 - Assist for the second, neat in midfield. Cattermole booked 7 - Tireless workrate and crunching tackles, as always. Khazri 8 - Excellent dead-ball delivery from the winger. A fine January signing. Defoe 7 - Alert, sharp, denied a deserved goal by clearance on line. Borini 6 - Not as effective as the rest but plenty of sweat and puff.
