  1. The Govs have no chance at an at-large berth to th big dance, nor does any other OVC team that does not win the League Tournament, it just does not happen for us.The Peay is guarenteed a NIT bid now that we have won the regular season championship, a new rule/invite that the new NIT has created for schools that win the regular season crown, but do not win there league's tournament (perfect example: the 2004 Govs went 16-0 in the regular season, but lost in the Championship game, and did not make the big dance). As for predictions, I like my Govs chances, not as a homer, but in Match-ups. It all starts and ends for this team on the Defensive end. With Dials, Middleton, and Joyce, size-wise we match up, and I think the quickness advantage may go to the Zips, but there is just something about this team that they play great team defense, very active hands, help side when needed, sprining a double team out of no where at times, I like our chances out front.Front line scares me to death. The Zips have a size advatage with Travis, but if we can get him out of the paint to defend, I like our quickness advantage there. Reed and Lockett are both good off the dribble, and the both have something going for them that is almost lost in today's game, the mid range (12-17 feet) jump shot. In today's game, the big men will let others just take that shot, almost unguarded, and if you give that to them, they can wear you out!If the Govs can defend the big man, and rebound, I will take the Govs in a close one.APSU 71Akron 66Let's Go Peay!
  2. Thanks for all the tips and the advice guys.Hey Zen, is the tennis team in action this weekend too??? I agree, nice representation of the student "body".
  3. Well good luck this week, and we will see you Saturday. For info, what is the weather supposed to be like? We have two trains of thought, fly cheaply into Cleveland via Southwest, or fill up the old tank and drive (both will costs about the same.)
  4. Well we love them, and we hope you will too!
  5. This is exactly the same in our league. Of the 11 teams, only the top 8 make the post season tournament, and then the automatic bid goes to the winner of the conference tournament. So bracketbuster, regular season, all that matters to OVC teams is to win the tournament in Nashville come Sat. March 3!
  6. You found us alright. Glad to see that all of your fans are so glad to see we are coming up to Ohio to take on your Zips. No, our mascot is a Governor, not a fraggle rock character. We did have a lousy out of conference pre-season, but we only had two returning starters on a team with no seniors at all on the roster.Right before Christmas, the Govs found some things that have seemed to work. We played @ Wichita State in the first bracketbuster and lost, and played Arkansas State last year, so glad to be going to Akron. And about us being a quality opponent. The OVC gets no respect. Yes, we have bad losses to Illinois & Memphis, but our league is a quality league, guard oriented, who jsut do not get the national exposure that some others do.Our numbers (RPI, Sagran) may not be the best, but we will give you a good game, don't you worry about that.
