great news about the Serbian. Wonder with whom he will be fighting for time? The Duquense guy? Conner?

They have no say in the conference schedule, it's determined by the MAC office.
Yes, my comment wasn't serious. It was a play on the "home and home" trope often used on ZipsNation.

Surprised Groce couldn't arrange a home and home with Miami, considering his half-brother is the coach.

We haven't started league play until after New Year's this century. We're also not travelling to the newest league member and the farthest member. So, both.
no trip to Mass and DeKalb is a MAC gift to the 2 time defending champion.

In conference starts before Christmas. No trip to UMASS. Interesting.
What's interesting? The early start or the lack of away game with UMass? Or maybe both?

MAC schedule: no trip to Toledo, Massachusetts, or DeKalb. Get the Michigan directionals twice. (that should help the at large conversation)

At large conversation or back to back home losses to start the season: the 25-26 campaign rests on a knife's edge.

Looks like the Nikola Cvetinović Serbian connection paid off.
Yes, Clark, has anyone see him on campus?

James Madison finished 158 in NET under a 1st year HC after their roster was decimated by the Portal. That's pretty damn good. Very valid to believe they will take a pretty sizable leap this year. Arkansas State has a new coach this year, so it's very valid to believe they will take a step backwards. I never said name recognition was a factor in the matchup, just that I'm happy with how this matchup came to fruition. The difference between any of the top 5-6 Sun Belt teams at home isn't that big of a deal because of how NET punishes home opponents. The bigger factor in NET is the road matchup in the Sun Belt Challenge and we have a long ways to go before that becomes a relevant discussion.
Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75.
Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135.
Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240.
Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353.Unless you're playing a team receiving Top 25 votes, you're likely facing a Q3 opponent at best at home. The Sun Belt NET does not matter for this home matchup, so give me the best name recognition possible to hopefully put more butts in seats and open some eyes of the general public with a win vs. a team they've heard of.
Is the Sun Belt a guards league or a shooters conference?

Respectfully, discussions about how teams are rated in college basketball are some of the worst and most tedious discussions in sports. Tanks right up there with NIL deals, the transfer portal, and exit velocity in baseball for me. They are part of the ongoing process that makes everything about the NCAA Tournament. It's ruining college sports.
Throw in "recruiting a viable, back-up big."

Why is that interesting?

I see they raised general admission ticket prices. It's still not a bad value when you break it down by game. It comes out to ~$6-$7/game depending on how many home games there are.
Seems like price gouging to me. So it's either a carton of eggs or a Zips home game? Highway robbery.

I see you can buy basketball season tickets now. Of course they haven't posted a season schedule yet. 🙄
i have a source, who has contacts in the ticket office, and he told me that the upcoming schedule features a team playing in every game that won back to back conference tournaments and was undefeated at home last season.

Even though this is an anonymous sports message board, this thread has jumped the shark and lacks insightful and/or original thought. "Kent State sucks" and "Akron football players are dumb" are worn out tropes.
